From start to finish, the team at HFAL went above and beyond to make the day as personal and as special as it should be. Our day started to run over timewise; as they are a specialist wedding venue, which comes with a dedicated wedding coordinator, their experience shone through, got the day back on track, and not one person realised, Absolute Professionals. The food is phenomenal . You expect when cooking at such a large scale they won't be able to reproduce such high quality as they did at the tasting, but it was even better The team were more than happy to accommodate any requests when we were planning our big day, including upgrading our drinks packages, which paired perfectly with our meal. It's a little added extra cost, but as we and some of our guests are a bit of a fussy bunch background in hospitality, so love a good wine, upgrading the drinks package kept everyone very happy and was well worth it. Thanks again, especially to Head Chef Stuart, Bridget and Farooq Photos by Ruth Charlotte Photography
A beautiful location with easy parking. Cafe offered a good selection of food and drink with very friendly, yet professional, staff. In fact, the staff couldn’t do enough for us. The gift shop has a lovely selection to peruse and purchase something nice for yourself or others. I bought the “Friend of the House” card which gives me 10% off cafe, purchases etc. This place is more than worth a visit. In a rainy day take a walk through the gorgeous and on a nicer day enjoy the beautiful gardens.
We recently hosted a conference dinner here and the experience was amazing. Sarah and her team went above and beyond to help us organise this event and accommodate our delegates, including the sheer number of them and dietary requirements, etc. Sarah made organising this remotely a much simpler process. At the event itself, Amber was an expert at dealing with timing complications when they arose and her team was professional and friendly and kept everything moving smoothly. The venue itself was amazing, and the set up for our dinner was stunning. The food was hands down the best I've had in my years organising conference dinners. I highly recommend the House of an Art Lover as an event venue, and I'm looking forward to visiting as a tourist to spend some time wandering the gardens and seeing more of the house itself.
Amazing wedding had here. And we went back to the cafe a week later for some cracking scones and coffee.Food: 4/5
A group of us had lunch here, and the quality of the food was excellent. The service was good at the start but tailed off - after being given dessert/cake menus, we waited ages for an order to be taken, and we waited a while to pay too. But the food was all lovely so we would definitely go back when in Glasgow again.Food: 5/5
What a beautiful place to see Charles Rennie Mackintosh furniture up close and be able to sit on it, beautiful place to visit.Food: 5/5
We were here just recently for a wedding and it's stunning inside! For any fans of Charles Rennie Mackintosh, this place is a must see.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo wait
Great little restaurant, Good tea, good people and how could the atmosphere be bad with all that ART on the walls
Mixed feelings about this one: definitely worth a visit… the story of how it came about is lovely. Design was nice to see, but on closer inspection things were starting to look at bit knocked-about and not made of the quality materials Macintosh certainly would have envisaged. I may be wrong, but I thought I saw quite a bit of painted plywood?
After years of living abroad we were back this afternoon for coffee and cake. Absolutely delicious and delightful variety of cakes and good coffee. We love the thoughtful touches on everything, beginning with the manager remembering our names from the reservation, friendly service and well balanced flavours. A place to slow down and enjoy if your soul needs to breathe in beauty.
