Lovely hotel in a beautiful location. The staff are friendly in an unforced way. We are made to feel at home. I would recommend this hotel to someone who isn't even planning on coming to the area. Five stupendously huge stars of epic proportions

Classic country house hotel in fairly small but attractive grounds. Good selection of 50 bedrooms at reasonable prices. Pleasant bar area. Polite and accommodating staff. Well maintained meeting/function rooms.

Had Sunday lunch here. Elegant surroundings and a pleasant experience. 4-5 choices for each course, and what we chose was tasty and came in large portions. Good value with Groupon.

Beautiful historical building on the exterior and grounds. The interior's dim lights seemed to strategically hide poor maintenance.  Photos of rooms a bit deceiving. Bathroom smelled like stale cigarette smoke. Showers accompanied by a wall mounted electric water heater that seem to be on a timer for 5 minutes; after your alotted time you are met with freezing water, even if you restart the unit. Bathtub water temps were fine. Test the breakfast a day before you prepay. Will try other options in the future.

Beautiful building, traditional and attentive service. Attended event with c 120 people, catering was great in terms of food quality, service and setup wasn't so well planned out.. creating queues. But otherwise lovely venue.
