I literally booked in, slept, and left the following morning. Room was warmed before I got there, bed was very comfortable. I never stayed for breakfast so can't comment. If I had to use a hotel in Runcorn again I'm definitely comin back here.
If you want a 5* hotel this is not the place for you. Rooms are very basic bed, tv, desk and some where to hang clothes. But saying that we had a reasonable night's sleep and was very quiet. Breakfast was cooked to order along with cereal, juice and croissant. Was just enough to start the day. I requested a ground floor room when checking in and it was no problem.
I stay in a lot of hotels with work, and this is by far, the most disgusting hotel I have ever stayed in. I had to leave on day 3 of 5 after seeing a rat in the doorway. They also charged me for an extra week, despite telling me they wouldn't.nI'd rather stay in east Ukraine than go back there.nBed was at least 20-years old. Had no springs left, mad the room STANK of bad body odour.nAbsolute shambles and must be unhealthy.nI found 3 of these on the floor during my 2.5-day stay.
For what it is, it's actually good and does the job. Yes, the rooms are basic and it's not great to look at, but it's very clean and has towels/shower gel/ tea and coffee etc. The staff are helpful and friendly, and the bar/restaurant area is pristine. They serve a decent selection of drinks. We ate a pizza which was freshly made in the kitchen and tasted really good. The staff and service were good. No complaints here!
Clean basic rooms and free breakfast when you book direct.nI would have given it 4 purely for value for money but the mattress was horrible and cheap, so we didn't sleep very well.
