Lovely little cafe in the courtyard at Hoops. Had the most delicious Irish Beef Stew here that I've had in years, portion was huge too. Almost struggled to finish it but it was too good to leave behind! Left just enough room for coffee and a pastry too which was also freshly made and delicious. Thoroughly recommend this place and the owner and staff are lovely.
I am very surprised to see a negative review. I was actually in the cafe last week when the subject incident took place and can categorically say that the people below were treated with the upmost respect at all times and the request to move a table was simply declined because where they wished to place the table would have caused an obstruction and prevented waiting staff and customers from having a clear pathway within the restaurant. They were advised that they wait until a table became free but they choose to leave and shouted this is a disgrace on the way out. All the seated customers could clearly overhear the whole incident.
I was also in the cafe at the time of the incident below. The refusal to let you put the 2 tables together had absolutely nothing to do with your disabilities. It is unfortunate that nowadays when people don’t get their way they immediately use social media to try and discredit a business. I have been visiting The Cafe for years now and both David and his staff are all so polite and professional and the food is second to none
Four of us went into the cafe today we were wanting table for 4, David came and told us that we couldn't move the chairs snapped the chair out of our hands. We told the man David that we were all disabled and two off us so that's the card your playing he was very rude,this was done in front off the customers I will never set foot in this place again,I wouldn't have put a star as he is not worthy his manner and attitude is disgusting the star was just to get me onto the review,
Visited this place on Friday after it was recommended to.me.Not a very large seating area but got a table and found the food excellent ,great amounts on plate and great coffee,nice surroundings and staff were very pleasant and could not have been more helpful.
This lovely little place is stunning. I've eaten here for years now and the food is still exactly the same high quality it was on day one. The menu staples are all really good but the specials are just that. If the Coronation Chicken is on give it a go. It's simply superb. If you're anywhere near this spot, stop in and treat yourself.
Went for lunch here today. We sat in their beautiful courtyard surrounded by an array of shrubs and flowers and the homely scent of a turf fire. We were really impressed by the friendly and attentive service by all the staff. But we did take particular note of how good the young fella with the blonde hair and brown eyes was at his job sorry didn't catch his name The food was very reasonably priced and of an excellent standard. We will definitely be back.
I’d given this place a glowing review a year ago but having visited it again I removed it… service and food it good the attitude of the staff is shockingly rude. When paying I was told we only accept cash! I said you should mention that to customers when they order…. A guy I presume not the owner. butted in ‘there’s a note in the till and it’s in the menu…. ‘. I politely said I hadn’t noticed either…. He responded… perhaps I should have it tattooed on my forehead would that do! Can I say no one needs attitude like that I most certainly will give it a very wide birth next time I’m in Greyabbey I shall never darken their door again ! Cheeky B*^+<~$6!
What a fabulous little courtyard café tucked away off the main street in Greyabbey. The staff were very friendly and welcoming which is one of the most important things with any business......... Our breakfast sandwiches were the best we'd ever had.... and the coffee was superb. Can't wait to go back again
