Wow I loved this place. It was like stepping back in time when I went through the doors. I was holidaying and thought I would go to the cinema. The latest James Bond film was on. I was shown a plan of the seating and asked where I would like to sit. It was really busy. I went up the steps and was shown to my seat. The seats were like they were back in the 1950's red velvet, and nowhere to put your drink. There was a stage with red curtains pulled, where you could see the screen behind them. A young man came selling sweets etc at the end of each row, from a wooden box. I loved it. The place filled up and the film began. There wasn't a sound from that audience. What a fabulous night. If you live local go to.it, if you visit Scarborough make it a must. Loved it!
Absolutely love that this cinema still exists and is run by such lovely people. For pure nostalgia alone, this place is worth checking out, I hope to return here year after year. The fact that I live over 3 hrs drive away would not bother me about coming to view a screening here, I love this place!!
I really love this cinema. It may be old fashioned and outdated to some, but it brings back lots of happy memories of what local cinemas used to be like. My granddaughter and I visit regularly and she loves it too! Long may it continue!
Lovely traditional cinema with 1 screen, showing all the latest films 7 days a week. Seats can be booked online. Great picture and sound. Ticket prices reasonable, as are the sweets and drinks on offer from the snack bar. Now operating a one way system, where you leave by the exits at the side of the screen after the film. I love the charm of these traditional cinemas and would chose to watch films here rather than the big chains given the choice.
My wife and I had decided that we would to watch Top Gun Maverick at the Hollywood Plaza while we were on holiday. Wednesday 13:00 was the booking . Just walking in is an experience it’s so retro beautiful exciting it made you want to go back out and do it again and again lol. The 2 gentlemen serving tickets popcorn were very smart enthusiastic and couldn’t do enough for us. It was a delight and we even hadn’t got in the theatre yet. They informed us that since Top Gun had been released it had been jam packed but we were in for a treat as there were only 4 other people in to watch. We could sit anywhere but also could pick our exact seats which we did. This beautiful retro very clean professional little cinema is a must. My wife and loved it. Well done

WHAT AN AMAZING OLD TRADIONAL CINEMA!! Loved this place, 1 screen only, old original seats, can't wait to come back to Scarborough and go again
Visited yesterday to see ELVIS Highly Recommended. Staff very friendly and helpful. How good to walk into the auditorium and see Tabs covering the screen. Other Cinemas please note, any true movie fan will tell you that the screen should only be seen when there is something being projected. Single Large Screen Cinema with excellent sound & picture, seats not super but OK so one star removed. Look forward to next visit.
Visited the cinema today and had a lovely experience. Excellent customer service in a quirky and original cinema. Will definitely be returning. Clean and tidy too Seats as others say are a little uncomfortable in terms of leg room and on the back so I did fidget a bit but all in all a great experience and enjoyed the movie :
Lovely little cinema, friendly staff and very helpful. It wasn't over crowded. Will definitely go again
