We have just walked through the garden Center, on to the fields, down the canal and eventually into the back of the scout hut grounds with our dog. Now, we are not local to the area and the walk was beautiful....until we stumbled across the Police training their dogs in the grounds. I understand that training needs to be done and I have the upper most respect and empathy for the Police but not once did we encounter a sign stating it was private land, a fence or even a police dogs in training notification. Last week I walked the same route with my daughter and things could have been very different. Luckily the police spotted us before the police dogs or this story could have ended very, very bad. I really do believe, if the area is private then it should be boundaried, fenced or signed. The Manchester Scouts should pay extra attention to this as not all people are as polite as we where and an attack by a police dog would end up in a healthy law suit. Apart from that, the people were almost polite and allowed us to get back the way we needed before the resumed. Sort it out before a child, a dog or a walker gets injured or attacked.
