Beautiful and quiet spot. Owner very helpful and attentive. Facilities clean inside sink for washing up and great showers. Facilities fairly basic but all needed is here
Brilliant oldschool think “Carry on Camping” quiet campsite in the back of Dungiven but not Duntakin’. Had a brilliant 3day camp on the old bikes and ideal for day trips out to the coastal routes. And the owner Melvin a brilliant character!! Not a modern site by any means but all the better for it!!
Lovely place, our first camp site on the wild Atlantic way Mervin is a great fellow and couldn't do enough for us, very quiet site apart from the nearby wind turbine which is quite noisy. The toilets and showers are good and clean. Looks like some work going on but a lovely place, we would deffo come back. There is a small park for kids. Highly recommended, we just rang ahead and booked on the day. Thankyou for the accommodation. Playground: Small park for kids Restrooms: Very clean, shower is great
Really beautiful small clean camp/caravan site! Still here and on our 3rd night. The owner can't do anymore for you and we will definitely be back! 5 stars from us! Toilets, showers, park, fire pit area, kitchen sink area for dishes. Electric points and water taps about. And it's amazing prices! Would recommend!
Lovely place. Mervyn, the owner, is very informative. Plenty of advice and suggestions about where to go. Campsite is quiet and doesn't have families staying anymore, so no screaming kids. Great mix of guests while I was there, lovely, friendly atmosphere. About 2 miles from town which has decent shopping and takeaway options.
Owner deserves a 6. The only thing letting it down are the older and Heath Robinson facilities which were however adequate and clean enough. But the price is good so change it from a 4 to a 5.
Don't bother booking this campsite. My partner and I were travelling around Ireland. We paid cash for two nights but couldn't stay for a single night because of a very noisy wind turbine. The campsite is nothing more than a building site. Arguably the worst campsite we have ever been to. May 2024
Difficult to get a campsite close to derry , Hillfoot is basic but works , bus service from the town dungiven about 2 mile away to derry . About 35 mins 8£ return, Melvin who runs the site is a charming character, both days he ran the 3 of us to dungiven to pick up the bus , then from dungiven back to site , no taxis about, I gave him 10 £ each day towards fuel which he didn't ask for but I thought was fair , I never heard the wind turbine at all , as I say a very basic campsite but full of character and charm from Melvin, bernie, Jean and Dan mccool
Absolutely loved this place. First time taking my kids camping and they loved the whole experience. Mervyn was brilliant, always on hand and keeping tabs making sure everyone was happy. My kids loved their stay and we will most definitely be back!
The owner of the camping site is very friendly and helpful, the lowest price in the UK, free hot shower, dogs free.
