Absolutely perfect place for staying! We been with a caravan for 3 nights. Electric and water. Prices are absolutely affordable Toilets are very clean! Our boy 3.5 years old loves it! Play area perfect for any child from 1 to 18, even if you feel young enough you can use it too Walking distance to the beach for walk, cycle or a swim! Love it! Will be back with sure!!!
Huge site with mainly static caravans, but there are still over 100 excellent, level, concrete pitches for touring vans. All have electricity and most have also a tap and a drain for grey water. Touring pitches are large and offset, so nobody is looking directly into the van in front or behind. The site is well kept, and the facilities block is kept clean and tidy. You get a key to access the toilets and showers for which you pay a £2 refundable deposit. In the ladies, there were approx 6 toilets, and I think 4 showers. You have to pay 20p for a shower, which would have been helpful to know when we checked in as it's a long walk to reception if you don't happen to have 20p. Same to use the hairdryer. As far as we could see, there is only 1 area where rubbish can be left so, if you're in a touring van it's an awfully long walk. There is a playground for children and large grassy areas for games. It's an ideal place for families. There is also a gate that will lead you over the sand dunes onto Benone beach which is absolutely beautiful. We are a retired couple so found the campsite a little crowded for our tastes. A little more information on check-in, such as a site map, would be helpful.
Great camping/caravan opportunity here, located right next to Benone beach.Service: 5/5
This is a ststic and touring caravan site well kept l would recommend it to anyone Nearby activities: Beach and a park for the children to play in Walkability: Nice nature walks and to the beach Food & drinks: Shop for your every day needs and a lovely fish and chip shop
We went there for short camping trip and we were the only ones camping there. if you like comfortable camping it's a place I recommend as there is a very clean toilet and bath and a convenient store just outside the main entrance. Mostly caravan park but have a wide camping area.Service: 4/5
Clean and tidy. Most of the caravaners here are friendly. Lovely walks along the shore and ideal base for exploring the Causway Coast or, by a short ferry ride, the Inishowen peninsula in Donegal. On the downside, large parts of the site are susceptible to flooding and management on site can do with improvement.
Was a bit worried when I saw some of the 1 star reviews but actually, it rained a lot while I was there and the field didn't flood and the owner guy seemed really pleasant to me? 5 mins from beach, good chippy on site, pub just round the corner, cool looking kids play park, it's got everything really apart from I didn't see any washing up facilities but I didn't ask about that. The facilities are clean and I never had to queue for the little outside toilet although I do find it odd that the main ones are locked overnight. Overall would highly recommend, especially for families
We stayed here for the weekend , site very well maintained, staff were very welcoming and friendly. The little Chippie outside was delicious and we were only a 5 min a stroll to the beech. My only complaint would be that the toilets are locked at 9pm sharp and from that time on all those in the camping area are to use a single portaloo for want of a better word. It's not clean, continually ran out of toilet paper and extremely small. I was annoyed that I had to subject my 9 year old daughter to it . I would genuinely ask the owners as to why the main toilets are locked at night when the camping area had circa 60 - 70 people staying over each night?
We went camping, but grass area was like a swamp, couldn't walk to toilets unless you had wellies on , toilet floor always wet as toilet leaked, good park for kids, and waves restaurant very nice.
Won’t be back. Was there in a tourer and put on camping field which was fine. Rain started at about 7pm and started to flood by 8pm. Campers had to leave and the owner was more concerned about them paying up not the extreme dangerous situation occurring. By about 11pm the entire field was flooded and when calling the owner to see what we could do as it was now getting a concern and we may not get the caravans out he asked if we lived in the real world as this is happening everywhere and he didn’t order the rain. Extremely rude and no concern for the safety of all his guests and didn’t even offer us to move to a dry safe location. Next morning after everyone rallying around to save things from the flood the office was closed, no staff in sight and no answer to the phones so we had to leave early as no viable alternative location on the site and no help at all. I tried to contact the owners to get a refund for the nights we were unable to stay and they have ignored all emails and contact. I have managed to get a charge back in my credit card after sending them details and emergency planning have been informed. It’s only luck no-one was injured or killed especially the ones in the tents packing up in over a foot of water and no lighting. If you want to put your life in the hands of someone only interested in your money then this is the place. Even the long term residence of the statics would say the owner is rude and just takes the money and puts little in to the place. EXTREMELY DANGEROUS PLACE.
