This is a great family run caravan park. You are 5 minute walk to the beachalso it is a drive onto beach . Chip shop, shop, golf, outdoor heated pool, tennis courts, kids golf and bar restaurant with entertainment at the weekends. Train station is 10 minute drive away. Limavady and Coleraine is 15min drive away. You can also get the boat in the summer to co/Donagh . It's also a very safe place for kids. Toilets and showers very good. And I think £1 for a hot shower is OK. WiFi is OK for tours and the family do there best to site you where u want. It's all so disabled friendly, pet friendly and it is having a new park for kids done. We went from tourer to static here and I could not ask for a better site. This is the best site in benone and I have stayed in them all.! Nearby activities: Golf, pool, tennis, beach, train, horse riding, wifi Safety: Card in and out service also for toilets and showers Walkability: It is, all on the flat so very disabled friendly. Food & drinks: Cafe and bars in walking distance aswell as walking
Deighans slogan is "Family run for family fun." This is very true! This is a family run caravan park with family values at heart, Thomas and Patricia have always been friendly and welcoming. The reception has a small stock of essential items should you need them. The caravan park is clean, tidy, well kept and spacious. The pitches are a good size and don't feel cramped or squashed. There are toilet and shower facilities which are immaculate and modern. There is a playpark for kids which seems well equipped and popular. Access to the park is via keycard for guests to control traffic flow while increasing security. There is an outdoor dish washing facility, a laundry block available and lots of fresh water points to avail of. Local things you might need, a pub which serves good food, a burger/ pizza joint, a chippie, a wee shop and it is a short distance from a cafe, golf course, surf school and last but most definitely not least a world class beach! Look forward to coming back!
No vacation feeling You have to do the dishes outside in the rain, there is no shelter. No bar or shop, no wifi. You have to do the laundry in another block between 5 and 10 minutes walk imagine that in the pouring rain. You need a key for all doors shower, toilet, laundry room. In addition, if you want to take a shower you also need tokens. If you do you also want to dry your hair you need another token and it last exactly 1 minuut for each time you use the hair dryer. On every door and on every corner it is clearly stated what you are not allowed no dogs here, no children there, no smoking, no laundry, no dishes I missed the sign 'no smile' as well as the 'no hospitality' sign. It has a military feel all in all. In addition, they close the sanitary facilities at 22:00 to 08:00 despite you having a key. I do not recommend this campsite to anyone. You have to be very quiet, no motorcycles or tents allowed, but at 22:00 the maintenance team is still busy with brush cutters on the campsite. 5 stars? If you are lucky you will only see this when the sky has cleared and there are no clouds above!
Prison Camp, not caravan site! Arrived to be given a leaflet with 13 instructions, mostly do nots!! Noticed the high fences and barrier which was operated presumably by the camera system, which meant quite a wait to gain access. Toilets were closed from midnight until 6am, which was not convenient at all, and I noticed a camera in the toilet! When making the booking an online form had to be completed which I found to be very invasive and intrusive, looking for too much personal information. As a paying customer, I would like the option of paying cash - no option was available. Even my elderly family dog had to be on a short lead. The 1st point on the leaflet said "no tents Awning annex or gazebos" yet at booking stage we were charged an extra £4.00 for this. Finally we were two campervans with two responsible adults in each, in our fifties and treated like children being told off by "Helga" at midnight. She told us she received a complaint about our music, which we turned down to a low level and were chatting quietly. I refuse to believe there was a complaint made since the closest campervan/caravan was at least 75 metres away. I gave 4 stars for location only because geographically it is on an idealic location. Camping & caravaning is meant to be relaxing and enjoyable. I did not feel relaxed at all here - glad we only booked one night. Never again.
We have been residents at this caravan park since it opened. Extremely well run site by the Deighan family. Walking distance to a variety of amenities, 7mile long sandy beach, a 9 hole par 3 golf course, Waves coffee shop, and a surfing school.Location: 5/5
We are staying here for 6 nights, arrived on 19th September. Nothing bad to say. It's quiet as it's mid September, and lots of space for our toddler to explore. Secure access in and out of park, showers and toilets. Owners are very friendly and helpful. Lots to see and do and there's a pizza and kebab shop 2 minutes drive
Spotlessly clean facilities, large flat pitches, grass areas like bowling greens! Great base for exploring the North West. We love it here. Can I think of any negatives? No drains at the pitches..... and when the wind blows.... which it does a fair bit.... the nearest windbreak is in Reykjavik!
Great family run campsite. Deighan family run a tight ship. Toilet blocks & all services and amenities are kept very clean and in good working order.Rooms: 5/5
We stayed this weekend for the first time on this site. We have totally fell in love with this site. Facilities are spotless, showers, you do pay for but, they are a good shower so worth it. Great family site not a sound later 11 at night.
I stayed in Deighans Caravan site for four nights with three kids and a dog in our touring caravan. We're no strangers to Benone as we have stayed in Golden sands and the Tourist complex all located within walking distance from eachother and I have to say Deighans is my favourite out of the three. The site doesn't really have lot for the kids to do other than the park see photo, it's ok but not a whole pile there but it doesn't really matter. You come here for the beach which is just spectacular! The site is very good with friendly staff that will take you to your pitch and help guide you in. Staff would never pass you without saying hello and the whole area is totally spotless. Everything is very well maintained which is a credit to everyone that works here. Toilets and showers are spotless also, shower costs £0.20p for a minute and a half upto £1 for 7 minutes. Like most I never like paying for a pitch then having to spend on the shower as it seems excessive but i will take it given how clean everything was. I had heard that the site is very strict before coming but I can honestly say all is 100%. No issues at all and an more than happy with the spacious picthes and clean grounds. One negative I will point out is the electric will trip very easily. We had only the fridge on then boiled the kettle which tripped the fuse box. Simple to fix but can get very frustrating if you're not pulling a lot of juice and it still trips. Long and short here is come to Deighans as the very minor negatives are overshadowed by their awesome site.
