I took my wife and daughter to the Hildyard for my birthday tonight. We all had a lovely meal and, unusually for me, I was replete afterwards. The food was simple but extremely tasty and authentic Italian, as you would expect from an Italian chef. At least as good as what I ate on my last visit to Pisa. The waitress Becky was attentive without being over-present and the chef also made an appearance to ask if we were enjoying our meal. He was genuinely enthralled to find that all tables were happy, evidenced by his personal fist-pump celebration as he went back to the kitchen. Good beer, good atmosphere, great service, great food, reasonable prices. What's not to like? Would I recommend this pub restaurant? Absolutely. I would urge anyone to drop by or make the effort to visit. You will not regret it.
I visited on two occasions and had a lovely meal on both visits. No complaints about the food at all. I didn't like getting my burger on a plank - would prefer a plate, however, it was very nice. Only drawback is that they don't take credit cards - remember to take cash!
Great beer great food we were left to enjoy our meals without constantly being asked if everything was ok. I had the steak and it was to die for with sautéed mushrooms and onions and not chips but proper vegetables! my wife enjoyed her pork tirolese which even looked good to me. Brilliant welcome brilliant staff really enjoyed the whole occasion.
What a let down came all the way from hull to have a meal to find out they don’t serve food! How about changing the website so people aren’t getting lied to
I am a big fan but enough about me, the food here is brilliant. fresh and tasty, with suspiciously low prices and painfully large portions. Nice beers and atmosphere. 10/10 would review again.
