Amazing pub! The decor was like being in a museum. We booked only an hour before and they were brilliant in accommodating us. The welcoming and service was above and beyond, and the ladies were happy to answer all our questions. Food was good but eating in a pirate ship made it such an experience. 10/10 would recommend anyone to just try this place once to see the wonders inside! Parking: Lots of spaces Dietary restrictions: Most options came with vegan and or gluten free options if needed.
What an amazing place!!! Packed full of interest and hard to describe it just has to be seen. Very warm welcome from staff. The steak pie was delicious as was the pastie. Ales and ciders to pick from. We will definitely be returning. You can’t take it all in in one visit.Service: 5/5
We popped in for a pint on our way back home. Utterly surprised by this incredible Inn! It's labelled as 'Britain's most unusual inn' and it doesn't disappoint. The service was fantastic too, very chatty and informative about the pubs history. Will definitely be returning!Service: 5/5
Absolutely amazing place! It’s a must-see! Be sure to look around all the rooms. There’s really so much to marvel at. We had a lovely lunch too. The lemon sole was delicious, so was the gravy. They have very many vegan options as well, and a few alcohol-free beers. Very dog-friendly. We highly recommend this place, both to eat and to visit for a drink.
Unlike anywhere else you will visit. Delightfully weird atmosphere and decor, but great food and drink, attentive service and friendly attitude. First visit with our new rescue dog, they were very helpful finding a quiet table. Food & drinks: Satisfying pub grub. Simple but effective. Great scrumpy.
What an amazing place! Came here for a belated birthday meal en route to North Devon. Its the quirkiest place I've ever seen. Little rooms and doors leading off everywhere, nooks and crannies filled with interesting things to look at. The room where I had food was like a galleon. The hosts gave me a lovely warm welcome, and I was made to feel at home. I even had a candle in my pudding when they realised I was celebrating my birthday. Thank you guys, I'll definitely be back
Not probably definitely the best pub I've ever been in. And definitely the most interesting and the welcome Sally and the staff give you is second to none. I've been in a lot of pub's over the years but nothing and I mean nothing compared to this pub. Don't just think about it go to it if you're in Devon you will definitely not regret it. It's been a family owned pub for generations and still is. It's so interesting don't drive by stop if only for a drink. The different themes everywhere is amazing the years it has taken your family to make this pub what it is absolutely outstanding. Thankyou for letting us share your pub. Ps I'd book if you want food as it's quite small but Sally tried to accommodate where she could. Nearby activities: Lot's of walks and cycling near by and close to tavistock Food & drinks: Lot's of veggie and vegan options Noteworthy details: This place is incredible Vegetarian options: Great vegetarian and vegan choices Kid-friendliness: Kid's will love this pub it's an Aladdin's cave for the imagination Parking: Plenty of parking
Very small menu and mostly vegan nonsense. Only a couple proper dishes to choose from. Rather slow service given the place was almost empty. That said, well worth stopping in once just to check out what a bizarre place it is.
Wonderful vegan only Xmas dinner menu. Food is superb and the place is just amazing!! Nice pint of bishops finger too! Food & drinks: Superb vegan Xmas dinner... Been back twice now for vegan Xmas dinner on boxing day. Great food and great service and friendly lovely hosts Noteworthy details: An amazing pub that is truly unique. It's like a pirate ship with incredible attention to detail. Got to be seen to be believed
The highwayman Inn is the atmosphere, always bumping into something, or seeing something extraordinary, inside and out, along with the Thomas A' Beckett Church opposite. The Scrumpy was very more more more, the food was excellent and choices for many pallettes. Walkability: Sourness trail was great in both directions, Thomas A' Beckett was very Dartmoor Vegetarian options: Did not leave me hungry but filled us both up for the rest of the trip
