Cons: bad mobile reception once you are in. Layout is a bit of a mess.. you almost need a Thorpe park style map to help you navigate around. No steam room, shower gels / conditioner. I guess it’s a better gym so shouldn’t expect it.. All that said, still a 5 star review… why. Pros: has lots of varied equipment. Swimming pool is large. Reasonably priced.
My review is not for now....but for the pool back in 1965ish! It was fairly newly built. I was 9. I used to walk from my Nan's house when I visited for holidays. I couldn't swim then. Used to watch children being taught in the training pool. One of the instructors noticed me and that I couldn't swim. She took time to teach me I didn't pay anything...and every time I visited she'd help me more. She was amazing and it was always enjoyable. I'm 66 now and have never forgotten her kindness.
I take my son in here for swimming lessons. Happy with the provisions. They have swimming pool, gym, group classes etc. there is ample parking pay n display too . Staff seem to be friendly. The only issue I have faced was that their process of changing swimming lessons days are very complicated.
Friendly staff, what's lacking is a family changing area. When you have a small child, it's very difficult to get ready after a swim as there is no area where you and your partner can both help each other out, shower and change the little one. Something they should look into. Water was nice, the teaching pool is 0.9m and lifeguards on site throughout.
The sauna/steam room arrangement has been ruined with the refurb. They are now accessed via the wet changing room and you have to walk the length of the pool to get there. You can now no longer call the reception, instead all calls are diverted to the main customer service. If I’d have been able to call the centre I could have found out the sauna hasn’t worked for two weeks before booking and turning up! For some reason the lifeguards opened the steam room door and poked their head in a couple of times, cooling it down in the process. Waste of £7, and why does everything have allocated time slots for booking now?!
Clean pool, changing room and showers.I enjoyed 30 lengths in a lane of my own. Very pleasant swim. You will need a £1 coin for the locker.
We recently moved to Pinner from Grimsby. We were members of Bannatyne Club in Grimsby, we liked it very much. We have recently tried a 14 day trial at Highgrove. The club is good value for money ambience is more in keeping with a leisure centre than an exclusive club/ spa. I have to book the steam room and sauna so one cannot must turn up the pool is normally busy no drinking water provision showers are communal and cold. Not used the gym but it it's very well equipped. Good value club but lacks exclusivity. I will need to look at other clubs to see what they offer and accept they will probably cost more but it will be a good investment for my health. .
Reason sauna is still not working after six weeks of .mail changing is freezing there is only one radiator in the changing room it's cold outside and has some common sense also you need some form of drinking water outside the sauna
Clean, never too busy when I go. Helpful and friendly staff too. I love swimming and have been avoiding it due to the terrible state of swimming pools in the area but this one is solid
DO NOT come here if you are under 16 and are serious about working out. They have a great range of equipment and everything you need however if you’re under 16 they won’t let you use half of it. The reason they give for doing so is “ people your age do too much weight and injure themselves and don’t take working out serious and just mess about”. If your over 16 great, if you’re under find another gym.
