This is the worst fish and chips I have ever had in my life, maybe it was because I bought them at 8.30 at night, in the photo that you see, that is the amount I left, the chips were very chewy, it was like Rushton Roulette, the odd one was soft, but the rest, I just could not believe chips could be so chewy and hard, my chips must have been in there all day, surely there were fresh chips somewhere in the glass cabinet, but not for me. When I first opened the box I couldn't wait to take a bite of fish before sitting down and eating them, I pulled a bit of fish and batter from the end and put it in my mouth, it had a strong fishy weird taste on the fish and batter, as if it hadn't been washed properly or something, I threw it in the bin, I tried just a bit of batter, but that had the fishy taste too, but I was starving so I took another bit, until I just couldn't eat anymore i couldn't bear the strange taste, the scraps were okay though and lots of them, so I ate as much as I could face, scraps really are not exactly what you should eat for your evening meal. The price was £6.70 which for fish and chips is great but I'm going to pay the extra £1 and buy them from a proper fish and chip shop, I did get charged 50p for using my card otherwise it would have been £6.20 cash, the lady behind the counter was very friendly! I made myself beans on toast, which were blooming fantastic actually, I had to eat something after that disaster. I will never step foot in that place again, it's a complete waste of my money.
I had salt and pepper chicken, curry sauce and chips. It was a bit pricey at nearly £10 and the 50p card payment charge tipped it over the the £10 mark. I ate this on my own although it would early have been enough for 2 people - I only ate half the chips and froze the the rest for another day.Food: 5/5
Had chinese from here last night. Unfortunately we paid over £30 for a chinese and was almost unedible threw our main course in the rubbish bin.The starters were full on grease & oil.The special curry we ordered didn't have a curry taste at all and the meat inside the curry was all fatty cheap bits. It was disgusting no prawns either.It was done the cheapest way possible and for the price we paid we require better. Will not ever return again to this chinese. I dont normally give bad reviews but I felt I had to this time.
This is the best Chinese in York. Have used it for years . The place is spotless and the portions are huge , the food quality top notch - total value for money . Totally recommend it .
Remember this as a decent takeaway o how times change ordered singapore noodles and some sides .spent over £22 all I got was a grease mess v v poor will not be returning even if they were giving it away.
One of the tastiest Chinese meals ive tried anywhere in the Country, Massive portions. Couldn't recommend this place more.
He said he had no veggie spring rolls but he did and he wouldn't sell me his clock Apart from that I don't know cos I haven't eaten it yet The wife liked it see her smiling away
This is by far the BEST Chinese and fish and chip shop in the UK. Quick service and amazing food. Love the chicken curry from here, always packed with flavour. Staff are great too!

Think it might be under new ownership as the quality of the food has gone up significantly in the last 6 months or so. It was always an OK place to get Chinese takeaway food but there were several places which were better, if less convenient. Now, however, I'm not sure there's anywhere locally that's much better for Chinese takeaway food or Fish and Chips, which are also much better than they used to be. They finally accept card payments as well. Would highly recommend all the food there now
