Staying at Hever Castle in Kent, England was an absolute delight. Nestled in 600 years of rich history, the castle is a stunning location that offers a truly unique experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff's exceptional service made our stay memorable. The rooms were not only charming but also impeccably maintained. Exploring the castle itself was a highlight, providing a fascinating glimpse into centuries past. The well-manicured grounds surrounding the castle were simply spectacular, offering a tranquil retreat. The attention to detail in preserving the historical essence of Hever Castle is commendable. Adding to the enchantment of our stay was the nearby Henry VIII pub, which exceeded our expectations with outstanding offerings. The overall experience at Hever Castle, from the awe-inspiring setting to the attentive staff and well-appointed rooms, surpassed all expectations. It's a must-visit destination for those seeking a perfect blend of history, luxury, and natural beauty in the heart of Kent.
Everything about this venue is stunning. We stayed in the Edward VII suite, wow! Luxurious furniture, enormous bed, spectacular view of the orchard and castle. The breakfast was excellent, there wasn't anything that you couldn't have, there was a buffet, and the choice of a full English breakfast. Included in the price of the stay was a guided tour of the castle, which was really interesting and full access to the gardens. You are also given 10% discount in the gift shop and cafe with the beige slip of paper given to you when you check in.
Amazing. Beautiful place, steeped in history. Excellent service in reception and the breakfast hall. Friendly, efficient. Nothing too much trouble. Wonderful deal with free access to castle, Christmas lights, Ferris wheel and carousel. Beautiful lake side walk. Christmas lights both creative and spectacular. Great, high quality rooms. Rooms: Beautifully fitted. Great bathroom. High end furnishing.
Absolutely amazing venue, the staff were very helpful and acommodating , the rooms are just so perfect and the history is great. Will definitely make another trip next year.Rooms: 5/5
We stayed here for 2 nights and booked last December 22 for June 23 in order to secure the best room - Edwards V11 suite. If I could give 10 stars to Hever castle in this review I would. Its fantastic in every way. It has the Historic moated Castle, extensive rooms of various sizes, large lake, massive grounds, Italianate gardens, Rose gardens, numerous clear paths, lake walks, woodland walks etc. The staff in all areas were wonderful, very friendly, helpful and very professional. Our room was massive - the bed itself was "Emperor" size with 6 pillows stacked 2 high side by side, view of the close by castle out of all windows, large seating area, large luxurious bathroom. The breakfasts in the grand dining hall were delicious and what a wonderful room. There is a Billiards room free to guests to use and the music room is a peaceful place to read the morning papers. One thing that I loved was that as we were guests, we were allowed to walk around the grounds in the morning and evening when day visitors had gone. It was so peaceful walking around just on ourselves or only a few other hotel guests.
Amazing rooms and outside seating area with a very cute fountain. Amazing and attentive staff. Breakfast in the breakfast room was pleasant and there were lots of different food options available. Very close to the castle and gardens which is very special as you can access the gardens after dark depending on the weather.Rooms: 5/5
It was a luxurious experience to stay in the castle. Friendly staff and excellent services.Rooms: 5/5
We just got back from a lovely overnight stay, the grounds really are magical and there's lots to see and explore. We stayed in the tulip room which was very nice, the bathroom suite and view from room was exceptional. But unfortunately I found the bed to firm to sleep on, and resulted in a very broken nights sleep. This might have been me as I prefer softer mattress. But it was hard it hurt my side. The breakfast was delicious and castle visit memorable. All staff very polite and professional. Overall an enjoyable stay just would have liked to sleep better on my one child free night off! Rooms: Tulip room beautiful views and lovely bathroom, very hard bed!
This place is the Bee's knees! The rooms are beautiful and very fancy. And you get extra time in the gardens after hours. It was absolutely beautiful! We are probably the only ones crazy enough to stay here without a car. Don't really recommend that. There's only one restaurant in easy walking distance and it fills up fast so watch out for that. Best to rent a car or be very familiar with some country cab options. Food & drinks: Breakfast was very good. Don't wait until the end though or they'll run out of croissants. There are good lunch options on grounds but for dinner you'll need to find somewhere else. Noteworthy details: The courtyard and gardens are exquisite and the Castle is very interesting. There is so much to see and do.
Absolutely stunning place to stay. Gorgeous room and bathroom. It's really peaceful. Excellent breakfast and service from all the staff. The castle is illuminated in the evening and looks amazing. You can have a walk through the grounds at any time during your stay, and entrance to the castle is included in the price.Rooms: 5/5
