We spent two delightful days here. Wendy and Ivor were wonderful hosts. The property is full of charm and fascinating historical interest. Very close to Hever Castle which is well worth a visit. Rooms are spotless, comfortable and well appointed. The private patio was a real treat, a haven of tranquillity in a classic English garden. We enjoyed the continental breakfasts and the small touches that made our stay extremely special. Rooms: Very comfortable rooms. Good Wi-Fi. Well appointed. Lovely modern bathrooms. Everything was spotless and worked well. Nearby activities: Close to Hever Castle. We spent a whole day at the castle/castle grounds as there is so much to enjoy. Safety: We felt very safe for the duration of our stay. It is a quiet tranquil setting. Walkability: It is possible to walk to the B&B and Hever Castle using a right of way footpath from Hever train station. If not encumbered with luggage the footpath is an enjoyable ramble. Noteworthy details: The property is full of historical interest with a unique charm of its own. The garden setting is beautiful.
We were delighted to spend three nights staying in The Potting Shed at The Thatched Cottage b and b. Wendy and Ivor could not have been more accommodating and helpful throughout our stay and the quality of the beautiful appointed Potting Shed in it’s stunning location within a very pretty garden, could not have been bettered in any way. Ideally situated within walking distance of Hever Castle and the local King Henry viii pub plus many Kent attractions within easy driving distance, we were spoiled for choice as to choosing places to visit. We look forward to returning.
We were delighted to have stayed in the 3 cottages set in the private grounds, all were very clean comfortable and a wonderful continental breakfast delivered daily. The potting shed is the biggest and detached with the tool shed and log shed semi detached. We had a small issue in the potting shed which Trudi addressed very quickly. We would all stay again Thank you
An absolute delight. Ideal location for a visit to Hever Castle and other local attractions. Spotlessly clean, hosts Ivor and Wendy very welcoming. Would highly recommend. Rooms: Spotlessly clean. Nearby activities: Hever Castle within walking distance Walkability: Plenty of walks and pathways Food & drinks: Continental breakfast in room. Henry VIII pub a few metre stroll for dinner.
Excellent accommodation. Spotlessly clean and well appointed. Wendy and Ivor have thought of everything to make you welcome, including extra fluffy towels. Walking distance from Hever Castle and a short drive to Chartwell. I would highly recommend Thatched Cottage for a peaceful break.Rooms: 5/5
Comfortable accommodation and friendly welcome in a beautiful location. The room is perfectly appointed, the bathroom and everything else spotless. The owners are the nicest people you can hope to meet, extremely helpful and kind. The location of the property is ideal for visiting the Hever Castle only a few minutes on foot with secure off-road parking, and the cabins have a truly picturesque outlook. It is quite wonderful to enjoy a relaxing cup of tea while gazing over green fields and the lovely garden. Simply cannot think of a bad thing to say.
We had a one-night stay at The Potting Shed. In the private grounds of the stunning Thatched Cottage we must say that The Potting Shed is a really surprising space, very cosy and well equipped. The en-suite room had a large, comfortable bed, a modern walk-in shower room with all the amenities to make you feel welcome and at home, but at the same giving you the feeling of being pampered. Surrounded by the lovely Kent countryside, a mere stone’s throw away from the stunning Hever Castle and a brilliant pub serving excellent food, it is well worth a stay here. Finally, thank you to the hosts, Ivor and Wendy, who made our stay especially welcoming. We will definitely return.
Wendy and Ivor are fantastic hosts We had a lovely stay here as we had a wedding at Hever castle to attend which is a very short walk. The room was big and spacious along with the bathroom with walk in shower the view from the Potting shed was beautiful.
Wendy and Ivor are the most friendly and hospitable hosts. For our very special weekend at the Hever Twilight event they went above and beyond with our requests. The rooms are detached from the house and quite private. We had friends in tow so booked two rooms adjoining and enjoyed the feeling of detachment along with the lovely views. The rooms are well considered, spotlessly clean and have all the facilities expected..All brand new. Breakfast is left in a lovely basket for you to eat at leisure with fresh orange, home made cereals, pasties and fruit. Special requests can be made and fulfilled our little one loves coco pops when on holiday!. There is a short walk across the grass which can be a tad muddy so take some wellies on muddy days. As a cheaper alternative to the Castle, you can’t go wrong here. A lovely location to explore from, great pub close by and Hever Castle is beautiful and great for families. Enjoy!
The most idilic setting for a 2 night stay. Beautiful garden with excellent accommodation, most comfortable bed and luxurious shower. 5 min walk to Hever castle and an excellent pub Wendy and Ivor were the perfect host making sure we were very welcome and really enjoyed the quality breakfast basket
