So I gave a car back today and the valeter straight away looked at only one particular alloy and claimed it had been scratched now this is a blatant lie as that scratch was already there, absolute joke this is I'm gonna have to pay for someone else's wrong doing. I was a regular customer and rented very often that is my last straw now with hertz they have been treating me with no respect or honesty.

I have been renting from hertz for over 8 months and have always has great service. Last month I hit a cone on the way to dropping the car back off. I was charged an excess of £2,450 which was refunded to me as I had taken out full insurance with them. I now booked again and uphon my arrival was told the car was not ready yet as it was being charged and cleaned... I waited around an hour before two members of staff came up to me and said we cannot proceed with the booking as our system will not allow us to book you. They then handed me a sheet of paper with the head offices number on and said I'd have to speak with them for the reasons why. If this is the way you treat loyal customers then I'm afraid I will be taking by business elsewhere and telling my contacts to do the same. Utter disgrace.

I just wanna say the guy at the reception here at Sandy lane is a credit to the company, he is ever so kind and very helpful. I have used other car hire companies but because of this guy hertz has been the best experience. Everything has been simple and straight forward. Thank you once again.

I booked a car online and prepaid by credit card, but did not receive any confirmation of my booking, nor a booking number. On my computer screen, the Hertz website just took me back to the first page to make a booking, but I saw that my bank account had been deducted, so I knew that the payment had been taken. I then contacted Hertz via the "chat" service to check if my booking had been made they said yes and I asked them to send me a confirmation of my booking by E-mail, but they then said that this was impossible, as their system did not allow it. What kind of idiotic booking system is unable to send a confirmation by E-mail ? I am totally dissatisfied by the booking service and the pathetic response from the online customer support service.

I booked online and rented a car for three days. Very uncomplicated pickup and drop off. Very fast and friendly staff. Everything was well organised.  Rented in June, Friday to Monday.

Having used their service, I was told damages would be done in 'zones' thus no further action was needed on my vehicle before taking it out. I ,fortunately, took pictures but am now being threatened with damages of £600 due to the incompetence of the staff at this branch. Avoid at all costs.

Wow so many negative posts. I have hired about 5 cars and have always been given good quality cars, even upgrades. On one occasion the boot was dusty but it was quickly cleaned when it was discovered during tyre check. On another occasion I had to park the car on the road as there was no space inside. Otherwise my collections and returns have been swift and professional. It compares well yo other hertz in London and abroad.

hired a car for three days initially to go abroad I found I needed the car longer and needed to hire the car for longer. The problem was I couldn't pay anymore money out on the card as I needed the funds as I couldn't change my English pound to Euros so I was maxed my card out. Hertz confirmed that they would take payment from the deposit rather than  card. Which was great for me and they made it stress free.

WATCH OUT DON'T GET SCAMMED BY HERTZ CAR RENTAL###$$ got scammed when I made a booking  with Hertz When I booked I used my debit Card to book but when I tried to collect the car they told me I had to have a Credit Card to collect it. I DON'T  own a credit card and I was refused the rental but they took my full payment any way. This is unethical and piss poor service. Well done hertz

Please, avoid. I am not sure if they are Hertz or a franchisee, but they are not following the recommended by the Government procedures. Instead of asking for the usual code, which is obtained by gov.co.uk to check for your driving license information, they use a different process! I don't know who has taken such a bad business decision, but they let you book a car, only to let you know that you didn't pass their "credit check". This is utter rubbish, as I personally have an excellent credit score, but on that day, I was left without a vehicle! PS: This is not included in their conditions of rental....
