We popped in here while waiting for our train. Straight across the road from the station. Absolutely lovely. Beautiful interior, great service, nice friendly staff.
Called in here for a quiet drink with family before catching the train. I ordered a hot chocolate, which was lukewarm and did not taste remotely chocolatey.nIt was not particularly busy in Herriots, I would say less than half full. So when the waitress started taking our glasses which weren't actually finished, and shuffling me out of the way to tuck all the chairs back under... it was clear we wouldn't be returning to give the hot choc another try oh well.nPlease learn some basic customer service skills - it will likely be of benefit to your business.
I highly recommend Herriots for any one looking to hold a funeral tea . Talking to Ann who is very professional and compassionate , making sure everything is in order . We held our mothers tea and from the moment we walked in we were welcomed in a wonderful way . The food was homemade and delicious . The staff serving the food were so kind , looking after the youngest family members just the same as adults . Hand on heart you will not be disappointed , you worry about food afterwards is there enough ? Is it good . YES to both . Thank you one and all bar staff very attentive too .
We went for dinner when on holiday. My pork was under cooked. It was replaced and I was offered a free drink. We thought this was just a one off sonwe went back for Sunday lunch at the end of our holiday. We all had roast beef which was O.K., but rather tough. Sadly we will not be going back, which is a shame as it is a nice place.
Didn't realise there was no lift. We were in a second floor bedroom and found the stairs a bit difficult. The light was not working on the landing between the first and second floors making the stairs quite dark. Reported it to reception but nothing was done by the time we left the following morning. The restaurant was OK but didn't think the main courses were worth the prices charged.
