Absolutely disgraceful. In order to get a flea treatment, I had to bring my senior cats into the vet which cost £208 for a check up. Now that they have been seen, I was able to purchase the flea treatment which cost £91.56 whereas, if I purchased the treatment online, it was just over £40 cheaper, including postage. I asked for a prescription so that I could order online however, they said they wanted another £26 for them to print/sign the prescription or, I can pay £19 each month to be part of their pet club and receive the prescription ‘free’ of charge!! It’s seems that the this clinic makes up their own prices with no real justification. Very disappointed.
Sadly won't be going back. £65 for a 5 min check of my healthy pup, making it the most expensive consultation fee in northern Europe. Meds are at least 2x, sometimes 3-4x internet prices. All about money and making any pet ownership the preserve of a rich few
I have been using Hedge End Vets for about 10 years. During that time I have given “end of life care” to three elderly cats, one at a time - have just adopted a fourth. The vets have been really supportive with this, kind, patient and always discussing all the options available. Particularly empathic when the I have had to say “goodbye” to the cats. Excellent service.
A very professional & friendly practice, who provide a very personal service for your pet. I have been very impressed on each visit & the reception staff have always been incredibly helpful on the phone & in person.
I only joined this practice approx 3 years ago, when I 'followed' a vet that had left my usual practice. But I am very happy that I came here. The receptionists are always so friendly and very helpful, both in person and on the phone. Then from the vet who had to suddenly put one of my cats to sleep after only a 1-day illness, to the vet and nurses who had to shave and examine my poor little Norman, who had a large hole in his side from a cat fight. He was so frightened and the nurses were all cuddling and cooing round him, calming him right down. He definitely loved all the attention! They again were very helpful a few months later, when I brought in a poor pigeon that Norman had caught and let go in my lounge! And then more recently, bringing all 3 in for their vaccinations. I don’t know who was more stressed those two days, me or them! You can worry that a vet's advice/treatment may be advised just for the money, which I have experienced in a different practice. But I have total faith in the staff here and believe it's all about the welfare of the animal. Yes, I am definitely fussy! But my cats are extremely precious family members to me and I wouldn’t let just anyone look after their health. THANK YOU ALL for taking care of them so well.
Lovely, caring vets, vet nurses and receptionists. They have been excellent with accommodating my dog-reactive dog, which I really appreciate as it could make vet visits very stressful! The vets are great with explaining treatment options, they give enough information and time for you to make an informed decision and I've never felt pressured into a particular course of treatment. Prices are a bit higher than the big chain vets, but are fair for the service you receive in my opinion.
First time coming here since switching vets 1for my cat and I already see a huge difference from my other vet! they are thorough but quick and straight to the point they give you options as to what you can do rather than just giving you the pricey option and they don't try to sell you more unnecessary stuff like a lot of vets do, extremely friendly staff who you can tell are very well trained and love working for this practice! 10/10
Receptionists always so welcoming All the vets we have seen Have been great with my dogs allergies, always friendly and great at explaining what next course of action will be. Would always recommend
All our pets have been with Hedge End vets over the last 10 years. They are always friendly and clear on what they think is wrong and what the next steps are. They give options depending on budget where appropriate and have a great Pet Health Plan.
Highly recommend this Vet. Excellent communication at all times. Care given to animals is second to none.
