Iv recently moved to the area and registered at this surgery and needed to visit for the first time. From first contact calling the surgery, my call was answered promptly and i received an appointment the same week. I received a couple reminders for the appointment which was great. Arriving at the surgery there were signs on how to access and where to go. The automatic sign in process was simple and easy and the seating area tidy. I was called by the nurse on time for my slot and she was welcoming, informative and went through all required for my appointment. It was quick and easy and I was reassured throughout leaving with no worries.
Extremely poor service. I have called 252 this morning from 8am on the dot and still didn’t manage to get through. Impossible to get an appointment, on the one occasion I managed to get a pre booked telephone appointment 3 weeks later, the GP was unhelpful and was not able to give you a specific appointment time- this is unrealistic for people who work full time.
Worst surgery in Rochdale if you can get past Mrs Susan Brierley you may get an appointment I called the surgery as I was having a mental health crisis and was met by a very unhelpful receptionist who’s abrupt manner and tone exasperated the situation this isn’t the first time Mrs Brierley has spoken to me in a very nasty unpleasant manner, I was then issued with a warning letter saying I was being abussive which very much was not the case I was distressed and in crisis. This lady could seriously do with training on how to communicate with patients her tone and lack of empathy and understanding is shocking
Had to wait a week just for a telephone consultation. Then when you are given a time they will ring you the doctor never rings you on or even near that time and ended up missing the appointment. Joke of a doctors.
I wouldn't recommend this surgery to anyone and I've reached the point where I'm actively looking at changing. Trying to book an appointment is impossible unless you turn up at 8am in person. For someone with a chronic fatigue disability this is a huge ask, and when I explained this to the receptionist over the phone there was no sympathy or attempt to apologise. Pure cold 'we can't do that'. This surgery is failing people's basic standard of care in even trying to book an appointment. Very disappointed.
GO LITERALLY ANYWHERE ELSE. The worst GP I've ever been under. Would rate at 0 stars if I could. Not even worth the 1.5 rating they have on here. Never had a positive interaction with this place since signing on with them when I moved into the area. Communication is abysmal for a start. No explanation of their processes when you first sign up, they just expect you to be psychic and know, god forbid the staff assist you to rectify an issue of their making considering you're a new patient. Have to email for repeat prescriptions but don't get a response or a phone call to confirm it's been sent so you still have to phone to find out. That's if you can get through on the phone line considering they have no queuing system in place, it's just engaged and hangs up! No chance of getting a same day call back considering the phone line is just constantly engaged from 8am, only option is to phone back the next day and start all over again. Just pot luck if you manage to get through to them. When you do, staff couldn't sound less interested. Can imagine they get grief all day with the state of the place. Not to mention they seem to have no idea what's going on. I confirmed a double appointment TWICE over the phone since I had no faith they'd booked it correctly and when I attended they STILL didn't have it on the system I was there for an appointment and to take bloods. Plus when having bloods taken, I only realised afterwards that the nurse didn't disinfect the area before inserting the needle and wasn't wearing gloves when she did it! Absolute joke of a place, avoid at all costs.
This 5 star review had been made on the basis of my mental heath worker namely gillian fletcher.. Gillian has been an absolute pleasure to work with... Ive been under gillian for over 12 months and counting and I have nothing but highly positive feedback for this worker, she has done everything she possibley can to help me within all different aspects of difficulties.. I can not express how lovely gillian is as a person and as a professional.. Massive thankyou gillian
The Dr's don't respect patients. Don't update files correctly. I can't recommend you go to a different Dr's enough. You can not rely on this surgery to look after yours or your families needs. Update. I have issues a subject access request so I can look at the notes they hold. They wont even comply with that uk legislation. Avoid this Dr at all costs and ensure any electronic notes they hold are correct.
Rang the surgery at 9.30am to ask for a home visit for my father because he didn’t look well, they said they would send someone. 2.30pm they rang back saying there wasn’t anyone available to do a home visit, to ring back the following day for a telephone appointment! I rang Bardoc who sent paramedics out to my father. He spent 3 days in hospital!!! This surgery is not fit for purpose.
The receptionist that goes by ‘mrs brieley’ extremely rude. Receptionists think they’re doctors and sign post to A&e for gp problems. Seems like this surgery doesn’t like dealing with anything and just enjoys sending patients other places.
