Spoke to a lady over the phone - her name was Sarah absolutely lovely, caring, polite lady and very helpful- went above and beyond and got me booked in with the clinician I requested for that catered to my needs. I was booked in to see Mehvish! Who listened to my concerns and dealt with the issue I had in a respectful, caring manner.. she is amazing! Would 100% recommend Healds Road Surgery to anyone wanting to join. The best SURGERY in the Kirklees area.
I have given 1 star in this review due to it not allowing me select 0 stars because this surgery being the worst surgery I’ve ever come across is extremely unprofessional front of house department, inefficient, unorganised and 0 customer/ patient service. I’ve never seen a doctor in person while I’ve been a patient here, only a nurse who failed to carry out my smear test after numerous attempts which may not be any fault of the nurse but didn’t complete all the questions/queries of the procedure. Came across as not confident which made me feel more nervous. The first telephone appointment I had here was to increase the dose of my tablets, the dr who dealt with me failed to update my records and messed my prescription up prolonging the situation of not getting my meds. My partner has been on the phone trying to cancel an appt for a long time this evening. The operator is obviously on their own and has spent more than 15 mins on the phone to caller 2 in line. The surgery is a joke and I’ll be looking to move asap.
The surgery is run like shoddy Taxi Rank and that's no offense to Bywell. Why can't you get an appointment during the day, why is it that you have to call at 8am and wait for an hour on the phone and then be told you can't get an appointment. The surgery needs to increase the number of GP's so more patients can be seen and remove the staff that work at the reception who wouldn't get jobs anywhere else with that attitude and have a go at being a housewife.
ABSOLUTE SHAMBLES OF A GP PRACTICE! Called at 8am Monday, after the whole rigmarole of a recorded message lasting approx 2 mins every time you call, to be followed by another recorded message saying 'telephone line is full call later!' After 3 attempts was 48 in the queue. Only to be cut off at position 29. When I called back another recorded message saying they had no appointments for today. Rang the following day Tuesday, again after 5 attempts as the phone line was full! 49 in the queue, after a 50 minute wait was told only a telephone appointment available after 2pm. Waited and waited, it's 6.20pm no phone call! Absolute shambles of GP practice. Asked for the manager to call me back on Monday, no phone call received it's Tuesday evening.
Just like to say the receptionist Michelle is so understanding and always helps with any situation for that reason I am giving it a 5 star rating. She is the only one that helps and understand the patients and gets the issue resolved so thank you Michelle great person!!!
Different days, different experiences. Generally, there is a wait, and communication isn't always great. One of their big plus point is that they are open later than other pharmacies and have parking.
I wouldn't even give this practice/ surgery and one star, it's ridiculous how they speak to patients it's like we're speaking a different language. I have experienced many issues where I am left told am lien to what the doctor have advised. The doctors never understand the problem your having and send you to diff Avenue to not have to do anything. What do we pay Taxes for??? Plus the management team is all corruption pls pls avoid registering here!!
Worst doctors I've been to only 2 people that work there want to help the rest seem to do nothing but make it the most uncomfortable time for all of there patients and just don't want to help anyway and to say these are the people you go for help to and only 2 with any compassion and willing to get you the help and if there not on the day you need that doctors then I feel so sorry for any of there patients I have been told I can't get my repeat medication over the phone and I can't get far out of the house with having emphysema and very bad breathing problems I've also got left hand nerve damage so cannot write out prescriptions so have no way or ordering repeat medication. Even though it's repeat then when I try through NHS app it still won't let me order repeat medication cos I need some information that only the surgery as of me to pass identification and the surgery could not give me it as it can only be done by manager and she is only in 2 days per week so have no way of getting my repeat meds what as this doctors come to it as left me no choice but seek help from pals and legal advice with medical solicitors.
Poor Reception, making appointment judgement's on own accord. Heart Failure patient wanted to see GP for further investigating of ongoing chest/back pain. Receptionist said can't come here incase something happens to you here. I explained 1. it's not acute sudden onset/life threatening. 2. It's ongoing chronic for weeks requiring gp investigation. 3. Been to A&E last week and they have ruled out immediate life threatening cardiac causes 4. A&E advised to go back and see GP for follow up and further action. The asian receptionist lad couldn't understand and was fixated on chest pain = AE now. Not interested in what i was saying. Frustrating! He rudely said i am not giving an appointment rather than offering to escalate or understand this was a GP follow up appointment being requested post AE for the the same on going issue rather than a new acute episode of CP. May i be fair and say once the initial appointment battle is won then the experience with the clinicians is good, they are competent and caring. I believe the problem here is receptionist training. They hear the red flag 'chest pain' and block you without understanding the circumstances. This is valid for anyone with sudden onset CP and rightly should be sign posted to AE but not for patients with chronic pain who have already been to AE and referred back to GP. Not the one usually to write reviews so you could appreciate the feeling leading to this being written. Give a thumbs up on the side if you agree where i am coming from guys. Hopefully this will instigate quality improvement.
Michelle on Reception and Practitioner Vicky are the most helpful people I have encountered at this surgery. Brilliant listeners and willing to go above and beyond to help.
