Poor Quality Product and Hopeless Customer Service We purchased a tripod lamp and shade from Heals. Could have opted for the cheap copy form Habitat, but thought we should spend well over £300 to buy the real deal. Well, it turns out the lamp stand is not made of hardwood as the description inferred. It is a softwood that is stained, and in our case stained very badly. Second rate Chinese rubbish - absolute con. And then it takes over 3 weeks for them to organise a collection and refund, but even then they initially do not refund the delivery charge, even though the item was faulty. Hopeless lack of attention. I must have made 6 calls and 5 emails trying to sort out the post purchase debacle. And no suggestion of a 'sorry' or good will gesture. Shocking. And not at all high end. Be warned!
TLDR; excellent place for inspiration for interior design with surprisingly lots of affordable smaller items. Only down side is the overly aggressive sales staff. If you need some inspiration for redecorating then this is the place to come. A good variety of designer items and styles on show here. The interior is multi floor and surprisingly big. Furnitures are pricey but for good reason. There is something for everyone too, smaller bric-a-brac items are often on sale and affordable. The only downside is the overly aggressive sales assistants. Not all but there were a few very keen staff over selling. Good experience otherwise.
Heals is having a massive refit. But they retain their essential coolness. I have been a customer for 30 plus years now. Their staff are as polite and charming if you buy a mug or a sofa. Also they have literally the best delivery service in the world. They bring in whatever you bought, chair bench table whatever. Unwrap it, assemble it, check it. Take away all the packaging and complement your cats and house. It costs a lot of money but it is worth it. I wish Heals was the government of this benighted country. And I was saving this until the end. The statue of the Heals cat on the stairs grants wishes if you touch its feet! It's made of bronze so doesn't get damaged.
Whilst the sofa we bought is fine other than the fault and after service outlined below; the after service with dealing with the fault on our sofa has been very poor. We registered that the sofa’s button was missing/cracked on the day of receiving the sofa - it’s now a month and Heal’s have not responded to various emails or got back to us with a date for an ‘engineer’ after calling. Basically - product ok but you’re taking your chances if there’s an issue following receipt. Not really what you expect given this is not an inexpensive purchase and the various PR on offering good service.
There is an excellent gentleman on Door Security at Heals. His name is Celestine and when we were about to leave he showed us the area we had missed out on. He is very efficient and friendly with great social skills. A real credit If you need to know anything, Celestine is your man
I have used Heal's on and off for 25 years. In the last year I have experienced a massive drop off in terms of quality and customer service. Last year I ordered a dining table from the clearance section. The table never turned up in spite of several assurances that it would come "tomorrow". In the end Heal's admitted that they had no idea where the table was, or if it even existed. I was eventually given a £100 voucher for the store, but this did not make up for the massive inconvenience. Also last year I purchased a cutlery set that became tarnished after a few days. This was replaced by a different cutlery set that also became tarnished after a few days. After several phone calls and unanswered emails, I was finally told to sent the cutlery back for a refund. This was done a month ago and I still have not received the refund. The customer service is rubbish. I used to look forward to purchases from Heal's, but now I will not use them again.
We are utterly disappointed with the customer service and quality control of the product from Heals. We ordered a very expensive bed months ago and have had nothing but issues after issues with the delivery and assembly, with zero interest in rectifying or compensation from the company. We have multiple issues with delivery service and now a faulty assembly. We are left without a bed and no one from the organisation is even remotely concerned with providing assistance. We frankly had a better service going with a basic brand at 1/3 the cost and this is ridiculous given the premium pricing. Our customer service told us she’s out of office and won’t look into this matter until she returns in 4 days. DO NOT BUY from HEAL’S unless you are ready for paying premium prices for the headache of poor quality control and lack of customer service. You are better off with other cheaper brands.
Such a shame as they sell lovely products but the sales lady and manger I spoke with today needed a crash course in customer service and how to be friendly. The sales lady was rude and had a short appraisive style to speaking to customers. When the manager came out it wasn’t much better….I mean If your buying something you at least want the person to be friendly. They were just rude and not sales people at all!! Zero sales, communication or buying vibe there at all just a helping of can’t be asked to listen to anything. I just thought their comments were rude and not even something you’d say to someone you don’t like and then to speak in a different language is rude!!! Make their lives easier and don’t go in… And high streets wonder why people shop online.
Ordered 3 items on November 21st 2022. One arrived several damaged a few weeks later. Damaged portions were replaced after complaining. 15 weeks later half of the remaining items arrived. When questioned as to the whereabouts of the remaining items I was told this was not Heal's issue rather a problem with DPD. The items might arrive in a week, they might not. In the mean time they would order a replacement with an expected delivery date 5 weeks from then. 2 weeks later I am on the phone with customer service 90mins and counting as I have had no contact from customer service or DPD regarding the delivery/replacement. I am expecting a full refund on the entire order. The service has been shocking and the aftercare abysmal. There are other options out there with the same items at matching or improved prices. Take your business to them.
A wonderful selection of furniture from around the world are to be found across all floors in this fabulous shop. I went there specifically to find a Knoll diamond chair and I wasn’t disappointed with a couple on display. The Eames selection was also very good as was the range of Danish furniture. The rug room is also worth a visit. One particular example made in Spain caught my eye. See pic To sum up. If your looking for furniture in London then a visit to Heals is a must. You can also get a coffee in the cafe.
