First of all don't be misled by the name, this is not an operating farm and hasn't been for a very long time. That being said all the farm buildings are intact and are converted into holiday accommodation. There is considerable history in the place and the hosts will happily tell you all about it. The rooms are very comfortable, the breakfast served in the main house was excellent and there is ample parking. They are located on the edge of town and it is possible to walk from here into town to the attractions. We liked it so much that we stayed an extra night.

Lovely and clean warm welcome, nice people unfortunately one drawback lots of choice at breakfast including cereals, yogurts etc but the cooked breakfast wasn't up to scratch

We were looking to introduce our daughter to the Peak District and some lovely walks. We wanted to stay somewhere that was suitable for a family with things to do so chose Buxton, after trawling the hotels, we decided on Hawthorn Farm due to its family rooms, location and price. When we arrived we were greeted by the owner Paul who was very friendly, helped with our bags in the car and showed us to our lovely room, a room with 3 beds, 2 singles and a lovely kingsize. The room was amazing, the bathroom was nicely decorated and looked brand new, the views were lovely, the size plenty for our daughter to get all the toys she brought on the floor 🤣. It is quiet, the owners very friendly and accommodating. The room was nice and toasty too. For breakfast you get fresh fruit, amazing strawberries by the way. Choices of juices, cereals and an amazing full English. The bacon was very lovely too, with a local oat pancake which was very tasty too. We will be returning customers, the owners arr fantastic, Oscar the cat is beautiful and Charlie the dog, well he just slept. Old fella. Highly recommended the Hawthorns Farm for a stay in the Peak District. Excellent value for money, and a rare family room. 10 out of 10
