Fabulous place to stop for inexpensive and authentic Malaysian food in central London. The restaurant is small and informal. Best to go early to get a table. By early evening it will fill up very quickly.
Cannot recommend this place enough! My friend and I both shared a starter and dessert, had our own mains and had a drink each and it only came to 30 pounds! The food came out sporadically but was amazingly fresh and there were absolutely no misses, the dosa was about the size of my torso. A no frills gem in the middle of central London!Recommended dishesNasi Goreng, Masala Dosa 10 10
Affordable Nasi Lemak at £9.90, good portion size + 2 pieces of fried chicken, no extra charge when you ask for a bit sambal. Good place for some affordable Malaysian food. Street parking can be tricky. Nearest tube - King’s Cross
Review for Hawker’s Kitchen Hawker’s Kitchen is a hidden gem for anyone craving authentic South Indian cuisine. In the heart of london near King’s cross, The star of the menu is undoubtedly their dosa, which is crisp, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Each bite transported me back to the bustling streets of South India. But the dosa is just the beginning. Hawker’s Kitchen offers a diverse menu filled with delicious Indian dishes that are sure to satisfy any palate. From the aromatic biryanis to the rich and creamy curries, every dish is a testament to the chef's dedication to quality and authenticity. The ambiance is warm and welcoming, making it a perfect spot for both family dinners and casual outings with friends. The staff at Hawker’s Kitchen are nothing short of amazing. They are attentive, friendly, and always eager to make your dining experience memorable. The staff including Sandeep, Vaishali, maithali were amazing when I entered and they gave me an environment like home it felt so amazing like I’m in India. On top of the incredible food and excellent service, the prices are very reasonable, offering great value for money. If you’re in the mood for an unforgettable South Indian meal, look no further than Hawker’s Kitchen. It’s a culinary delight you don’t want to miss!
This is a Malaysian Indian Street Food Hawkers version Mamak. Authentic food preparation and taste aswel. Although there are not many dishes to choose from. No koew tiao yesterday : Genuine friendly staff. Toilet is really tiny. But clean. There are very few spaces for seating. Coming back to try other dishes. No reservation is needed. Accepts Cash & Card payments.
A bit of a disappointing experience after reading so many positive reviews about this place. The restaurant did not have any beef or lamb that day, the service mistakenly served me chicken for fish, and the food was not packed with as much flavour as in other Malaysian restaurants. There was a Malaysian girl sat in front of me who sent a dish back. When management offered her another dish she left it almost untouched because it was not good enough. Maybe they had a bad day but it is unlikely I will come back
Overall, very disappointed after reading many positive reviews. Slow services: we ordered lemon honey tea but it took so long to arrive food was already there and we needed to ask for drinks a few times, and brought a wrong order. Not hygienic, hairs found in dosa. The only positive thing is it’s quite cheap.
The drumstick in the chicken curry were soft n juicy. Its spicy just like what I would get back home. The roti is flaky as it should be. I did not expect such authentic food that is inexpensive for London standards. I care more about quality and value and less on ambience so this place is definitely a 5 stars for me.Food: 5/5
One of the most authentic Malaysian food you can find in London. The fish curry, ayam goreng berempah, sambal and kuey teow tasted just like in Malaysia no exaggeration. The only minor issue is that the shop is small about 4 tables. Though only 1 table was occupied when I went. Hidden gem for Malaysian food in London. All Halal too Dietary restrictions: Halal
Great little Malaysian / Pan Asian cafe with very reasonable prices. The beef rendang was thick and authentic, the chicken wings were very crispy and nicely coated, the roti fluffed nicely and the nasi goreng was excellent too. Very impressed.Food: 5/5
