Company hassle free drove straight onto the boat . We had a night crossing and we had a cabin that was very comfortable . The wake up music did make us smile . The breakfast was ok and then the exit from the boat was swift .nAll in all i will be using this ferry again.
This is an excellent way to leave and enter the UK to the Netherlands. We travel this way regularly and find it much friendlier and more relaxed than either an airport or a port such as Dover. It can be busy or quite quiet. Apart from freight the only passenger ship is the Stena Hollandica or Britannica. They've just been upgraded and are quite luxurious.
The level crossing areas are a joke. The barriers come down about a week before the train arrives, and go up a few days later…. Passport control is due for a rethink.
Great port. Very friendly staff! Smooth passport check and everything went smooth before hopping on the ferry to Netherlands.nnThe reason I didn’t give 5 stars that it lacks facilities for dogs. Like some grass patch or something like they do for euro tunnel and other ports. The pets onboard stena Britannia NEEDS better place for dogs, small efforts can them long way.nnThe process itself for boarding was smooth.
Using it quite often for crossing to/from the continent. Never had an issue. The staff is helpful and friendly.
