Safe and easy parking. Only issue was that all the vending machines, tea/coffee and snacks were all out of order so best to pack your own drinks if arriving or collecting from here.
Arrived early morning for ferry day after. Plenty of space, well organised and great staff when going to the ferry.
Functional and spacious international ferry port with excellent local shops and restaurants before entering the queue and getting onboard.nAs a car driver, motorcyclist, cyclist or pedestrian you queue before the check-in and then go via UK HMRC to another queuing area nearer to the ship.nThere is a duty free shop and toilets, and they offer free hot drinks. Do check your allowances for alcohol and tobacco to avoid illegally carrying ore than allowed by law.nThe terminal itself looks 1950s or 1960s with tired and dark coloured concrete structures looking very old, but they were in the process of resurfacing the secondary waiting area, so this is a maintained facility.nBe careful on the roads nearby as there are many inexperienced drivers on UK roads from overseas, some in cars or trucks, some in HGVs, so be patient and allow them extra space & courtesy to find their way, same as you would like to experience abroad.nRecommended port and far better than Dover.
Hawick International Station is a pleasure to visit, well laid out, spacious very well organised, boarding was a pleasure the staff are organised. The service on board is excellent, spacious, plenty of things to do, if you need to lay down or have a break get a cabin for one or the whole family. The crossing from Hawick to Holland is seven hours, so nice relaxing journey and pretty cheap.
You have to use it to board, the actual services are basic, there are only vending machines, no shops. The toilets are grim. They smelt bad and in the women toilets the furthest left hand cubicle toilet has been leaking badly for the last three years.
