Went for Christmas dinner. Meal was nice, everything cooked well, however, no carrots available, no wine list. Lacked special touches but price reflected this. Service good and staff pleasent. Would go again.
We had a 3 course lunch for two and it was superb. Nachos, chicken then treacle sponge. Tomato and basil soup, chicken then ice cream sundae. Go easy on the salad bar while you wait or you’ll never finish your dessert.
Nice pub, well located for buses for those of us who do not drive. We went for a Christmas meal and all was served promptly - the staff were very friendly and helpful. My only criticism is that the nut roast I ordered was so tough that I had to leave a large chunk of it as it was impossible to cut through or eat. However my wife ordered the same and hers was fine. The rest of the food was nice enough, especially the starters :
Wonderful service and friendly, family atmosphere. Waitress Iona was fantastic - myself and my partner were recovering from cold when we visited and struggled to eat everything due to our fatigue and poor appetite, despite sharing each dish course between us. She offered to pack our leftovers up to take with us and we cannot thank her enough. There's a reason we're regulars here! Wishing her and the Ryhope Harvester team a Merry Christmas.
I haven’t visited here for years. Brought my grandchildren here for soft play then lunch.Whole experience was fabulous had drinks first as were were early for soft play. Granddaughters had a great time and enjoyed their lunch! Our waitress, Ann was brilliant, very polite and helpful, great service by her. I’ll be back again as we all enjoyed it so much ! Could I just add the toilets in the soft play area could really do with a refurbishment, pungent smell of damp and flooring looks worn and dirty! Kid-friendliness: Kids had a blast !!
Frosty welcome, we felt like more of a hindrance at 5:30 on a Friday evening in a practically empty pub. Were shown to a small table for 4 yes there were 4 of us but the place was empty and there was no need for us to be squashed onto this small table. Kids went and played on soft play for the remaining half hour it was open. Lights were flickering on and off. Kids menu looked like decent value but we decided to leave when soft play closed. Options on the main menu did not appeal to us. Very over priced for pub food.
It's really tasty breakfast. Good potion size, excellent value for money. Friendly staff that can't do enough for you. Would definitely recommend
Really good food and staff lovely. Bottle warmer wasn't working so was brought over a bowl of warm water. Great service.Food: 5/5
Not good really we had a starter a main and a sweet the starter was ok the main we ordered was bird surf and turf which was supposed to come with a corn on the cob which we didn't get I had to ask for the sauce which came out Luke warm and the steak was all gristle it was shocking but another huge problem was the service the poor girl who served us was run off her feet it was pretty bad trying to get served we won't be hurrying back I promise
Food was mostly frozen food from packets though we enjoyed our meal, served quickly too. A little pricey but staff were very nice and it's a nice pub too.Food: 3/5
