Hartshill Hayes Country Park
"Two areas of ancient hilly woodland make up most of this delightful country park. Renowned for glorious displays of bluebells in the Springtime, the park can take your breath away all year round with its hillside location offering spectacular panoramic views over four counties on a clear day. The site also has a great adventure play area/tea kiosk."

Lovely place for a walk in the countryside. Great views of the valley from the start with benches to enjoy coffee or a picnic. Car park not too expensive at £3 for the day. Children's play area too. Saw a few people on the walk all friendly and enjoying themselves. Mixed walk with woodland, fields and canal side walk about 4 miles wit a few few hills. Interesting buildings on canal side. Toll cottage and clock tower. Playground: A few kiddies rides and frames near car parking. Restrooms: Toilets in car parking area. Dog-friendliness: Dogs on leads please in fields with sheep, cattle and horses in adjacent fields. Picnic area: Large under cover area adjacent to car parking or benches with a view scenic photo image attached
Despite being signposted well I get lost easily. However, it's very picturesque & great on a warm or wet day due to the tree cover. Adequate parking & toilets, but cafe shuts too early. Some great views over 3 counties. Be warned, it's hilly. If you can't handle hills try Burbage common & woods.
Peaceful, quiet, lots of different paths. Great for chillout walk, run, bike ride or walk with a dog. Big car park pay by card only, lovely playground for kids, few tables for a picnic/lunch.
Nice and quiet, beautiful scenery. Quite clean even though some visitors decided to litter. MTB cycling tracks are awesome. Great experience overall.
A wonderful and well maintained country park to have a stroll in Endless of paths to discover and popular among dog owners. In the northeast end you can find the ruins of Harthill castle - built in the 12th century, and said once to have housed King Henry VII after the Battle of Bosworth It’s now listed on ‘Historic England’s Heritage at Risk Register’, so I just had a look from the outside In the north end you can learn about the ‘Trilobites’ ℹ an ancient ancestor to lobsters and king crabs and if you’re lucky you maybe can get a glimpse of other 530-millions-years-old-fossils In spring you might also see blue fields of blooming bluebells Near the playground is a large picnic table, restrooms and carpark
Good parking. Great views. Fantastic woods. Lots of paths. Bluebells were awesome this week Good play area for kids
Great country park for walking. Lots of paths and wildlife, if this place had a cafe it would be perfect for us, personally that felt like the only thing missing otherwise it would be 5 *. The dogs love it regardless of course :
Nice peaceful place to take the dog. Also a children's play area on site. There is a charge for parking.
Good place for a nice walk.. parking is available at £3 for the day .. toilet available .. they have a play area for children .. I feel parking is on the higher side hence 4 stars
Nice little place, a little heavily managed and sterile for my liking, but a nice walk regardless
