Staff are friendly and helpful, especially over the phone. The council is a bit slow at times except when payments are due to them. Also the system they use sometimes makes errors which needs to be looked at as it causes unnecessary panic but nothing that can't be sorted over a phone call.
Parking fines are really cheap, well worth the 35 quid to leave the car where you like. Beats the London prices I'm used to. Hope the money goes toward renovation of the town, looks rather run down which is a shame.
too much money wastage of working tax payers money on silly useless things and projects that is of no benefit to peoples well being and welfare, also people on low income minimum wage should Not have to pay council tax thus pushing them into further poverty with nothing left in their pockets after a hard week work, depriving people of their well being and welfare living standards of life, its a disgrace
Expensive council rates with little or nothing in return! Lack of vision...no infrastructure to cope with rising population. Outsourced landscaping to a private firm see pictures.
Not very helpful. We had a 100% council tax reduction due to my partner being of state pension age and I am currently not earning due to Coronavirus. They have now decided to take it all away and give us zero. I cannot even claim benefits. How does this work ! Having said that they are not short of funds as they employ private contractors to maintain the cricket pitch even in the winter months !. They cannot get their priorities right and are one of the worst councils in the country.
Very efficient in dealing with my Blue Badge and always helpful on the phone. The refuse collection in Nuneaton is very good with 3 bins. Pity about the litter in streets and parks but you can't blame the council for that.
Without doubt the worst council in the country. Their staff are really unhelpful and they offer grants that don't exist. Not really sure where all their money is spent but I don't see it being spent where I live despite massive council tax increases. Zero is too good for them let alone 1 I would rate them as minus. I know a company in trouble when I see it and this council is on the brink.
Takes about 5 weeks to process a simple request on council tax. When you phone them they fill out a form for you and pass it over to someone else to deal with it. Normally leads to higher bills as less months to make payments. To someone who doesn't know what they are doing this could lead to financial distress and they purposely choose not to advise of this information unless you ask.
I live on a new estate in Weddington. The bin men did not empty my black bin properly last week which meant it was left outside half full. I did not have enough space inside to put all the rubbish and so had to put bags next to it on the floor this morning on the next collection. They emptied the bin fully this time but left all the bags. My bin is now pretty much full again with bags already. Poor service. *I have now since phoned the office and booked them to come back and collect. The lady over the phone was very helpful. Review changed to match the service.*
high respect for this council did everything they could when I had a break down to get me support, staff even went above and beyond to provide me with food and resources when I was in hardship in 2020 and had presented myself to the council, haven't forgotten their kindness and am still to this day deeply touched by their kindness. thank you
