I ordered a large cod and chips, the cod was no thicker than 1cm throughout, not a large portion of chips either, bit of a rip off. The homemade tartare sauce was inedible, it was mainly chopped up onion in mayonnaise, no capers/gherkins/dill. Mushy peas were dry. Batter on the fish was nice and crispy, chips were fine but luke warm.
First time ordering from this chippy and it was delicious. Hubby had the homemade fish cakes and said they’re the best ever! I mentioned to them it was my daughters bday and they went the extra mile to make it special thank you so much . Highly recommend and will go back again.
Excellent and popular fish and chip shop. Great stop off point after a day at the coast. Large choice of meals - kids menu too. You can order ahead if required Some outside tables. On street parking nearby. Can get busy. Long opening hours.
Light bite meal was a perfect small lunch for me. I’ve always loved the chippy but have never been able to eat their massive portions so great that they have this now. Still my fave chippy!
Live locally and often call on our way home. Staff are very welcoming and always have a friendly wee chat. Everything is nae bother. My daughter is gluten free and has complete faith in the products. Thank you as this can be difficult. Dietary restrictions: As above my daughter is gluten free. She, my wife and I have complete faith in your products and knowledgeable on this subject. Not always easy to find.
Came in on a Friday night, very busy but the staff were all working brilliantly to serve everyone as fast as possibly. Food was lovely and cooked fresh. Will recommend to anyone and everyone. Had a card left in my bag saying it was fried by Zoie, you are amazing Zoie. Keep up the good work!
Busy little fish shop. Had scampi and chips which was delicious and my 11 year old son had the battered sausage meal- all Eaten and enjoyed . Great. Looked after by Ciaran - what a superstar because the place was packed and he still managed to make sure we were all looked after! Kid-friendliness: Kids meal was Good value for money and delicious
Stayed in sledmere but found this fish n chips shop, oh my god absolutely fantastic. The fish n chips was superb, so much better than down south were we live.Full marks and a big thankyou to yorkshire. Magnificent treat after a long drive
Just ordered 2 lots of fish and chips as usual. Not normally a problem. Today we were disappointed in the way they were slapped together with tiny fish broken into bits. Not bad tasting but not good value maybe it was a child’s portion but I ordered large fish!
I can't understand why the counter top was grubby, spilt salt all over & not wiped down! I feel the counter should be spotless! Lady behind the counter on her mobile, grubby laptop on far end of counter baffled! Floor could of done with a brushing in between the high and lows of customers. The young guy who served us was wearing a spotless uniform and polite. Food was good too. When it comes to cleanliness a couple of things were not quite right.
