I needed to change my long term medication after an adverse clinical report made me liable to heart problems. Instead of the doctor i was given an appointment same day with the surgery pharmasist. We had an in-depth discussion and a thorough examination to provide an alternative. The chap was most helpful and listened to my opinion. The result was new medication with a review in four weeks. Excellent! I was seen same day and was listened to. Thank you.

At the first time call I have asked for appointment and the receptionist told me that is not possible to make a pre-booking, I just need to call in the same day at 8 o'clock. Ok. I have called in this morning from 8:00 to 8:35, line was busy. After 8:40 it worked but I was in a queue 4th. A lady answered and she said as today they have already 3 appointments and she can book me on Monday. That is awful because I'm working 6 days per week from 6:00 to 18:00, and I took a day off to get to the meeting with a doctor. Now I have lost a day, and I still need to take another one for just 30 mins meeting with a doctor.

It is super stressful to make an appointment here but the staff have always been so so friendly to me. Yeah you have to wait a while sometimes but it’s nice to see friendly doctors who actually seem to care about their job and the patients.

Have to call for 30 minutes straight from 8am to get through to someone to make an appointment (there is no queuing system for the phones, you just get repeatedly disconnected) - often to just be told that there are none left and to just ring again in the morning because they don't book anything in advance. Receptionists are often just not even there, or will work at a ridiculously slow place regardless of the size of the queue. The self check in is also usually broken. Once I got told that my appointment was an hour earlier than the time I was told over the phone (and that I got in text verification) and so was made to wait for 40 minutes after my time. Although they always make you wait way past your given time anyway. I once saw a doctor that told me that getting a prescription weekly would be £60 a week, that it wasn't necessary for me to take the antibiotics he was prescribing me, and that took a written letter from a worker at A&E for the doctors from me and presumably threw it in the bin - as it was never put on my file, he ignored the contents and I never received it back. Worst GP I have ever been unfortunate enough to go to, and it's an absolute joke that Staffordshire University still uses its services.
