Norman Bates Motel with a funny smell. Value is the game here. £90. Cheaper than in town centre. Lorries roar all night. Beds good, shower strong. Free parking.Rooms: 3/5
We stopped here for Sunday carvery. There was roast beef, pork with the most tasty crackling on offer mmmm. The meat was carved infront of you, the vegetables were cooked to perfection, everything was great. The staff were young, polite & efficient. All in all a very nice and rewarding visit. We will do it again. Service: 5/5
"Dined" at the restaurant and fortunately didn't stay in the hotel. This place is just horrendous. It shouldn't be trading it is seriously that bad. The food is rancid and vile and the service is awful. The Manager went into hiding. See Trip Advisor for accurate and detailed reviews of the restaurant if you really want to invest time into considering this total hovel as a potential venue for a meal, but I would just suggest you go elsewhere instead and let this complete toilet descend further into inevitable bankruptcy. Without a doubt the worst "restaurant" I have ever been to. The only way I would ever consider spending money on this place would be to pay for the bulldozers to destroy it and turn it into something nicer like a crack den. The food and the service would likely be better.
Good place to eat,doggie friendly,the staff are lovely they always bring out a fresh water bowl for our spoilt little dogs the dogs always sit on a cushion on the chesterfield sofa, staff don't bat an eyelid. We always tip well as they do a fantastic job vast arrayy of foods to eat,my only wish is that they have more vegitarian choices. It's reasonably priced for 3 of us to eat it worked out around 70pounds that's Inc alcoholic drinks. Huge portions which we never finish..You don't feel hurried to eat,it's so relaxing. Highly recommended.
Stumbled across this restaurant late Sunday afternoon, had a very pleasant and enjoyable couple of hours. The food was fantastic and the staff attentive and very nice. We have made a note of where this is and will definitely go out of our way to return.
We spent a night at this hotel and would not recommend it to anyone. The main light in the room was not working, the TV could not be turned on. But worst, the shower did not work at all when we tried to use it in the morning. All still ok, but when we complained at reception, instead of offering us another room, the manager was highly unfriendly told us that he will not do anything at all, but we have to complain to expedia through which we booked. Overall, the rooms are very basic, the carpets very stained, shower was not working and windows could not be closed. This place is in need of a serious make over!
Carvery had excellent choice of vegetables. Meat well cooked and desert of Eton Mess was very good. Service very slow though staff were pleasant. Not the place to go if time is short.
I always think the toilets are the test of attention to detail & they are a let down. No hot taps functioning, yellowed paintwork & grubby looking cracked floor tiles from the 80's at a guess. Shame because the restaurant has nice decor & feel. We had roast beef & several slices smelled a little near the nose. The Yorkshire pudding was tough & difficult to cut - not sure how you manage that! Gravy was a slick, pale generic to go with chicken, pork or turkey but definitely not the beef. Kids sausages were nice, left the mash. Won't come again
Friendly welcoming staff. Lovely choice of food at reasonable prices. Meal came quickly and was very tasty. The pudding was huge but delicious. Would highly recommend.
Staff weren't particularly helpful or polite and the room was not particular clean. A bit disappointed for the price we paid. There's a better place up the road at Crockstead Farm were we ended up for dinner, they even whipped us up a meal before the kitchen opened and catered for Coeliacs.
