Incredible experience yet again. From our first encounter on arrival to a lovely helpful goodbye we asked for some local Knowledge for a walk The staff are wonderful and cannot do enough for you and the food speaks for itself! It’s not often you look at a menu and see over 5 things that you would choose to eat! So much choice and the standard is up there with the best.
Had the full Sunday lunch. 4 Adults and a toddler. Eat inside which is a lovely environment. There is lots of outside seating. A DJ with music sets. Pizza and burgers served outside. Great service team. Large selection of drinks.
Charlotte was a fantastic hostess, full of humour, great advice and a lovely customer focused attitude. We enjoyed her service and that of Jo. The food was great and definitely a place to visit. I think next time I come I’m having the mushrooms on toast, scotch egg and a burger. That Scotch egg looked wicked but nobody was sharing.
Absolutely loved the food and setting. The quality was excellent at brilliant prices. The wood fired pizza oven gets used for much more than pizzas...we had the sole with shrimps and capers... simply beautiful. Service was top notch.will definitely go back when I am down south again. Highly recommended.
Made a pit stop at this place, after finding on route via Google Maps. Lovely staff who were really friendly. Great menu with enough choice to satisfy various tastes. We went with a pigeon lasagne to share, which came with chunky garlic bread and some of the best chips I’ve eaten in a while! lovely beer garden, although was raining when we arrived and plenty of parking Highly recommend if you’re in the area
Sorry guys but we were really disappointed with the Sunday lunch. We recommended the place on previous experience and ended up in the position that we won’t be returning. The meat two of us had lamb and one beef was literally shaved from a preformed catering roll and the veg was certainly not plentiful, a couple of parsnips, a carrot, three small non crisp potatoes, a spoonful of cabbage. The gravy was sweet the only saving grace was a lovely Yorkshire. At £22-£24 I have had so much better at a much more reasonable price… I think you have lost your way as I know times are hard but we still expect better. The puddings at £9 each were ok but at that price we expect fabulous. Have you changed hands since lockdown? We paid the service charge because it was good but really can’t say the same of the meal. Too expensive, quality and plate appeal low Parking: Plenty
Really lovely food, great service and management and lovely, friendly environment. An excellent stop off if you're travelling on the A34 as only a couple of miles away from the junction for Newbury and Hungerford. Chef is very competent and we highly recommend. Vegetarian options: Some vegetarian options available. Parking: Easy parking with plenty if spaces.
We enjoyed a really delicious lunch here. Service was great, from the barman and especially from the lovely waitress Charlotte. The food was very tasty and we didn’t have to wait long for it. Will definitely return!
Food was great, staff were accommodating and friendly, food was delicious and went down a storm. Big party of us and everything went smoothly, food came out together, drinks were flowing nicely, couldn't have asked for a nicer venue for a great pub lunch.Food: 5/5
What a little gem of a pub / restaurant. Lovely decor inside with the log fire going, the staff were friendly and polite and it was very dog friendly with a bed, bowl and biscuits by our table when we arrived. Loved that the customers in the pub also accepted my long legged girl tooFood: 5/5
