How many Halfords employees does it take to change a lightbulb? 2 apparently; one grumpy old man to tell you not to park your car in a fitting bay at the time you have booked only to have to move it immediately back there after moving it elsewhere and then to tell you they can't change the headlamp bulb on your car even though you tell them you have seen it done before without taking the whole headlamp unit out and then the 18 year old who apparently knows nothing to do it in a matter of seconds. The 5 stars are for the young lad who was very polite with a great customer manner and an extra bonus 0 stars were awarded for the grumpy git If he wasn't just having an off day please let the young lad give him a bit of training.
Bought a car battery. Less than 18 months old. Told it isn't covered by halfords warranty as they only have a PARTIAL WARRANTY on batteries, was told that the battery is low on capacity after testing. This will be the third time in 2 yrs we have binned a halfords yuasa 5yr warranty battery on 3 different vehicles averaging 60 miles a day. Something not right about halfords stock and they're warranty isn't worth the paper it's written on.
The guys working behind the checkout counter and the bike counter were great and knew their stuff, but Halfords really need more floor shop staff. There is no one about to ask any questions about products. I don’t think we should have to queue up behind people who are waiting at the checkouts just ask a question.
Id rate it no stars but I can’t .nWent to get a brake light replaced , the guy replaced the bulb and then none of my brake lights worked . He refused any responsibility for it and claimed that all of my lights were broken before , stating it is an electrical issue with my car . They advised me to drive home without any brake lights and said that it wasn’t their fault. I suggested they had blown a fuse but they said it was fused separately and the technician had been around for 20 years so couldn’t be wrong . I was still charged £11 for the guy to break my car.When I got home we replaced the SINGLE fuse and all of my brake lights worked again apart from the right one . They blatantly lied about which lights worked to cover the fact they had blown a fuse . I’d suggest replacing lights yourself as they had no idea what they were talking about .
Recently visited to replace a rear number plate that fell off whilst driving, lots of outdated red tape to attempt to get one printed. I think it would be easier to get through customs at a UK airport without a passport than it would be to get a rear number plate printed at Halfords. The car was outside with the front plate on, I had the broken rear plate with me, plus V5, plus partners driving licence and proof of address, after waiting for the manager without any updates just stood in the shop for 10mins, he came and said he can’t do it, even though they Halfords printed the original plates with the same documents. Sometimes you just have to trust common sense to make a decision. Anyway got one printed online without any proof of anything, arrived next day.
