Tbh they are lucky to get even a one star, wanted 2 daytime running bulbs fitting only because I don't own the correct tool to extract the bolts from the headlights. The man I talked to was abrupt and down right rude . He came and inspected the position of the bulbs in question and said they wouldn't fit them. But I had them fitted here last year?? Also he also quipped that they were very busy and what where people doing on a Sunday coming into the store and i quote "PISSING THE STAFF OFF" by that comment my wife turned to me and said even if they would be able to fit them she wouldn't give them her money. Halfords lost yet another customer for your overpriced goods and services. I managed to acquire the bulbs and fitted at a fraction of the price.

Expensive- if you have time order off the internet. Charge £8 to change a bulb- mine was a 10 second job... lesson learnt!

Was looking to buy a car seat. Halfords are having a promotion on them, great! I checked online and the website said I could reserve it to pick up at my local store in an hour. How convenient as I was already out and about. Went through the routine and got as far as checkout, where it now said it wasn't available! I know, I'll check to see if any other stores have it in....nope, unless you know WHERE every store is you can't find them. You have to type a postcode or area and go through the whole routine for each store. I know, I'll ring my local store, the friendly staff there will be able to help. After I got through the automated menu I got to a ringtone, ring ring, ring ring, ring ring so on ...no answer. Tell you what, I'll just drive to the store, wrestle the kids out of the car and go and ask in person. Get to the store. No one in sight. I spot some child seats on a promo stand. Aha! I go and look, no prices, no information. No worries, someone will be along soon and I'll ask them....nope. I find some more car seats at the back of the store, I see, what I think is the seat I want still boxed on a shelf, again, no price, no info. In the end I looked again on the website for the seats model number then searched the box. Amazing! The website says they don't have it, but here it is! I take it to the till, buy it and leave. Get home to check my receipt. Did they apply the discount....no....come on Halfords, sort it out. You already charge premium price for goods compared to the internet. You should offer premium service. If not, you are going to vanish from the high street...the stores are already deserted.

I was so disappointed with the lack of service at Preston this afternoon I decided to take my son to look at scooters at the Chorley store. What a difference in service and courtesy. We spoke to Benjamin who was very knowledgeable about the products and gave us a great customer experience, in complete contrast to Preston. I can appreciate that I wasn't spending a vast amount ( in excess of £100, however) . I would recommend management, at the Preston store, that some of their staff may need further training in how to meet customer expectations or benchmarking the Chorley store.
