Got a phone call as my car Failed it’s MOT because the passenger door wouldn’t open. Furthermore they would have to ‘break the door board’ to fix the issue which would incur a cost. Everything else passed. I have no problem with my car failing a safety inspection after all its for my own protection. However I have never witnessed this fault before. So I drove back to the garage and tried the door. It opened. I told the manager who responded with a terse “it failed at the point of inspection pal”. Again, no problem with that. So I asked if they could retest it as it seems to be working. “Can’t do that pal as we are prepping it for the service booked MOT and Service. I told him I’d make that a little easier and cancelled the service. I asked again when it would be retested as I’d like to be here to observe the faulty door first hand. The manager didn’t look up from his computer and said “if I have someone spare I’ll get them to have a look but I’m not giving you a time pal”. I asked if I could challenge the MOT and he said “yes, look it up online. No one’s ever done it so I don’t know much about it”. I asked for the number of customer services. A short phone call later to explain my frustrations and one of the technicians went to my car, tested the handles locked, tested them unlocked and said “yep… I’ll issue you your MOT now sir”. Why it took a phone call to customer services to get them to perform basic customer service in store is beyond me. They’ve lost the sale of a service and the lifetime value of a customer all because of one managers utter disregard for simple customer service.
I would never consider going anywhere else. Professional staff, excellent manager. I can leave my car knowing exactly what work is being done and confident in the knowledge it will be respected and looked after. Well done, keep up the good work !Service: Brake service & repair
If google would let me, I would not leave a 'star' absolute awful experience with Halfords, my car went in for service, did not come back for 7 days. They had snapped the sump plug during an oil change, claimed to me that it is a common fault, which later I find is a complete lie. They offered to 'repair or I would have to pay £400 plus labour for a new one. Obviously the sound of repair was the better option at the time. My car was returned after 7 days of paying for taxi's! A week later to find I had a major oil leak on my car and had lost a third of oil, after seeking advice from an independent garage to find the repair was not up to standard, £1000 later I had to replace the sump, oil and filters and 3 days worth of labour! Halfords think it is acceptable to offer at £150 refund. Not a chance, I am now seeking advice from a ombudsman and trading standards. Avoid.Service: General repairs & maintenance
Arrived at alloyed time. Reception staff were excellent & I left 25 minutes later. Excellent service. This is the second time I have used Halfords & would not now consider using another tyre fitting company.Service: Tires
Paid for MOT, failed no problem I understand cars fail was then quoted £311 to remove a locking whee nut, replace a lower control arm ball joint and align a headlight!!!! I was even informed by the guy on the desk the total work will take less than an hour to complete. For everyone’s reference this is on a 2008 Mazda 2 not a brand new, expensive car. Booked in with a local, reputable garage for another MOT and complete all work. Less than £150 all in! How do you get away with it?! I appreciate things don’t come for free especially not these days but the inflated prices just because it is an MOT failure and them/ you knowing fine well people will pay so they can drive their car is a joke! As a bonus one of the guys in the workshop itself looked at me like I’d just punched his kid when I asked where was best to give in my key when I first arrived. For reference this is the only bad review I’ve ever given any business, ever. Absolute joke.Service: Vehicle safety inspection

I honestly cannot thank the guys enough for all their help with my tyres! Nothing was too much and they were so helpful their customer service is truly second to none! Thank you for helping find the fault, repairing my puncture and getting me and my little smart car back on the road! Will 100% use again and recommend to friends and family!Service: Tires
First my starter motor went and called hoping to get seen. With in 48 hours my car was in and problem solved so I took it back 3 days later for my MOT and again, some minor work 2 hours later car was back. The gents where so lovely and efficient I will 100% be using them again thank youService: Auto maintenance

Booked my car in online, for a full safety check booked in online for 10 in the morning thinking this was the time it was going to be looked at. Only to be standing around for three hours after asking when it was going to be looked at the man on the front desk said that it was just a drop of time. But said if the checks are something he can do he will do it. Only for my car to be pulled in the garage waited half a hour watching the man just to be stood out the front with a friend having a fag, vape. Then he brought my car and sed it all fine and that he will email all the paperwork through I did not have it on the same day. So I rang them to see what going on to be told that they will do it today and still nothing I feel that the checks did not even get done to seeing what I seen while stood there watching them. And I only say this because they had three staff members on that day and one was doing mot, the other guy at the time was changing tyres on another vehicle and then the bloke that was meant to be doing my check that was stood out front and in and out on the front desk. I paid for a service that I don't was done not happy one bit. Will not be using them again.
