When we turned up the lady doing his hair said ‘I don’t normally do Afro hair’ when my son is mixed race. I’ve always taken him to European hairdressers so I was shocked when she said this. I then asked her to shave his hair lower and she started to get funny with me. Then when paying she said that the only reason she didn’t want to go shorter was because schools don’t like them having lower than a number 3, to which I said he’s not at school. She rudely replied ‘well I don’t have kids so I wouldn’t know’. She wasn’t child friendly at all. Wouldn’t recommend and will stick to Shortcuts in Morhercare Romford from now on as they provide better customer service, are child friendly and are cheaper.

I recently visited to get my hair trimmed and my eyebrows and eyelashes tinted. The staff were great. Listened to exactly what I wanted and did a great job. I think I had Sam for my beauty treatments and Katy forms my hair. They're really efficient which, as somebody with very little time to spare, I really value. Price is also reasonable. I've been looking for a regular place to go since I moved to the area 3 years ago and this will definitely be my new place.

Not a bad bikini wax but it was a very simple job one can't get wrong. I turned up at 8:57am for my 9:00 appointment, the beautician rocked up at 9:03 (no apology). The salon and room where I had my wax smelt musty (some smell being masked), and it didn't look overly clean. Doubt I'll go back.

Absolutely shocked at the treatment I had in Hair, Body and Soul, Elm Park today.  I've always booked and paid through a third party app they use, never had an issue before and been going every month for over 2 years.  

Was told by my hairdresser (who I believe is also the manager) that I hadn't paid. 

Nicola/Nicki "the owner" came on the phone to me shouting that I hadn't paid and I need to pay them and contact the app to get my money back.  She repeatedly stated that she always has problems with people who book through the app and it's not her issue as she is an independent business owner.  I suggested she doesn't have a business relationship with the app anymore if it causes so many issues.  She told me that I don't tell her how to run her business.  Nicki - if your business relationship with the app is causing you, your staff and customers distress then it's probably time for a change. 

Anyway, after much back and forth she told me this was my problem and I owe her the money.  She then shouted at me that I was rude, can forget about the payment and never go back to her salon again and then hung up the phone.  Thanks Nicki - so glad I was able to "forget paying you" DOUBLE THE AMOUNT.

The stylists are lovely and have always been and most know me by name.  I have seen quite a few come and go over the past two years I have used this salon, I wonder why!  They were very apologetic and shocked, as were the other customers in the salon.  I wasn't trying to rip anyone off, turns out i had paid in full and the owner's husband, Michael, confirmed this via email later.  

He also reiterated that they are not at all at fault and that the app would call me and explain this.  I didn't say anyone was at fault, but a bit of customer care wouldn't go amiss!  He stated he "doesn't understand why I was trying to pay twice"... Because your business accused me of not paying the first time Michael!

I have asked him to call me, so long as he will not be aggressive like his wife, clearly they're unable to do so as he  hasn't called back.

Having had two telephone calls with the app company since, they were shocked at the treatment by Hair, Body and Soul and even had to suffer Michael "being aggressive" down the phone to them also.  A full investigation is due to be carried out as the app states they do not condone the way I was treated by the salon.  They also could not understand why I was treated this way as they could see how many times I had used the app to book at Hair, Body and Soul.

Thank you Alicia, for the lovely highlights once again.  Shame it was my last time.  I'll now be looking for another local salon to bring my regular custom to.
