"The Gunpowder Mill is named after Faversham's historic explosives industry. The first gunpowder plant in the UK was established nearby in the 16th century and the original watermills served to grind down charcoal, saltpetre, sulphur and other ingredients. Production continued well into the 20th century with Faversham gunpowder used at epic battles including Trafalgar and Waterloo. Thankfully these days we’re cooking up far more appetising fare here at our mill, with flame-roasted rotisserie chicken being our main focus. We only source the finest, Red Tractor farm assured birds, hand seasoned and cooked fresh-to-order to the perfect combination of juicy and crispy – people often tell us it’s the best chicken they’ve ever tasted! What a lovely evening we had here. We were celebrating our 8 year anniversary and what a lovely place to do it. Leah who was serving us was so lovely and welcoming. Didn’t make us feel rushed and made sure we were happy with everything. The food was amazing! And the atmosphere was perfect. Thank you!Food: 5/5
I was pleasantly surprised at our visit to the Gunpowder Mill. It was a lot more professional than I was expecting - the food, service and overall experience was top notch. It is decorated to a high standard and is very modern looking. There was a good ambience with music playing at a decent level. I opted for a Chicken and chorizo kebab which came with a flatbread and French fries and was very tasty, all washed down with a pint of San Miguel. As I said we were very happy with our afternoon at The Gunpowder Mill and we will definitely be back.
Decided at the last minute to finally visit this place. Booked a table online. Friendly welcome on arrival. Waitress was very nice. There were only a couple of items they didn't have. We went at lunchtime and it was very noisy and busy. The place had a nice feel to it, and I expect you can fully appreciate this at a quiet time. If they have one. Great offers on weekday meals. Will be trying ordered gammon and chips and hunters chicken upgraded to buttermilk chicken strips. we both said it was the best hunters chicken we have had anywhere. The gammon was a generous portion with 2 bits of meat. Normally, anywhere else, it's just one. Drinks/food arrived fresh and quickly despite being so busy. Definitely be going back very soon
The service was excellent. Very attentive and happy to help. Very accommodating to our dining needs. A lovely restaurant with tables spread nicely. Great parking and all round atmosphere. The food was exceptional with one of the best steaks I’ve ever had and the peppercorn sauce was the best. Desserts were also incredible. My husband and I shared all our foods so we were able to taste as much of everything we ordered. Food choice was fantastic. Would thoroughly recommend.
Absolutely wonderful. The table we were given was at a booth and there was plenty of room for us to be comfortable. Our waitress was excellent and catered for my child with a clean highchair, a kids menu and plenty of smiles. The food was delicious and the service was exceptional throughout. My sister and I had a lovely time. We have been here 3 times now and have never been disappointed. Thank you for looking after us so well. Vegetarian options: Good amount of choices and very tasty. Parking: Parking to the rear wirh plenty of spaces. Kid-friendliness: Very accommodating and excellent menu choices at very reasonable prices.
I booked a table online with ease. I like the fact I get a reminder text just incase my circumstances have changed. We were promptly seated at our table and drinks order taken. The food menu was varied. I had the on fried sea bass which was excellent! Our waiter Ed was very attentive and kind. We did not feel rushed and had a fabulous catch up as friends who had not seen each other for months. I feel the food is good value for money .
This is a popular venue for locals. The staff are friendly and attentive. Food is good but the steak can be hit and miss. Puddings are lovely. Atmosphere is inviting. Unfortunately they tell you how many calories you eating on the menu.Food: 4/5
Our party of three enjoyed an excellent meal at the Gunpowder Mill, Faversham. First rate service from the attending staff. Professionally arranged meal, looked well defined on the plate. Excellent ambience and spacious seating. A most enjoyable and relaxing experience. We will return. Well do one to all. Parking: Numerous parking.
Lovely atmosphere and reservation was accommodated well. Our server Emma was absolutely excellent, she was super friendly and hard working, we were a table of 9 so she was certainly busy! The food was decent for the price! Kid-friendliness: Server Emma was great with accommodating requests for the kids and went above and beyond by finding us some toddler cutlery.
The food was lovely, the staff were lovely. The timing of service was not so great. One of the drinks ordered was on the menu, a completely different drink was brought out and then when we said that to the waitress, she said they don't do that drink... despite it being on the menu. Another drink was made incorrectly, missed a load of it's usual additions and was charged for 2 drinks when we asked for what the drink is meant to be like. It took forever to get the drinks and have the other drink remade properly and then the food took a while also. Again, I'd like to reiterate that the staff and food were lovely. Timings of everything, not so much.
