This is an excellent location for children and adults, lovely walks, mountain bike trails and bridle ways. Easy low cost parking at the forest cafe gives you easy access to most paths. Information can be obtained at the visitor centre. The food is very good and a full English is massive.

A great place for all ages from tots to adults. Spent many days there with my grandson. Lovely walks and a rewarding coffee at the end. The cafe is extremely popular, very dog friendly and the staff are great. The centre also has a shop and a busy volunteer group. Love it.

Great access to the NP. Cafe, toilets and a proper car park (free after 1pm) situated at the foot of the ridge and on the old railway line - runs East to the paths & track to the hills directly and West to give access to Roseberry Topping with a little longer walk. Much to do for small kids and families (nature trails, fish ponds and adventure trails) or for adults who want to use the tracks to Up High onto the ridge and moors.

Outstanding place to visit for young and old. The Gruffalo trail - especially using the android app - is great fun for all the family. The climbing apparatus set in the woodland is very handy for the old as well as young. We had an amazing time and will be back soon.
