Story

Stafford is the County town of Staffordshire lying 26 miles north of Birmingham, adjacent to the M6 at Junction 13 and enjoys an excellent communications network to all parts of the country.
Total catchment population extends to approximately 215,000 people with an inner catchment of approximately 66,000 (an area extending from Yarlet to the north, Weston to the east, Dunston to the south and Derrington to the west).
The Guildhall was originally developed and owned by the Standard Life Assurance Company. The architects for the scheme were Fitch Benoy.
Standard Life sold the Guildhall Shopping Centre to Tops Estates in March 2000. Tops Estates sold the Centre to Land Securities in December 2004 and then it was sold to Glanmore on 29th September 2005. Finally it was sold to Edinburgh House and operated as Guildhall SC Propco BV on 26th September 2014.
The first Managing Agents were CB Hillier Parker and this changed to Colliers CRE on 25 March 2000. Donaldsons took over as Managing Agents on 1 April 2002 and then DTZ took over on 1 January 2007. Edinburgh House took over the day to day management of the scheme on 13th February 2016.
The Centre comprises a total of approximately 157,000 sq ft (14,585 m2) of gross lettable retail area and incorporates Stafford’s Market Hall which has a gross lettable area of approximately 23,000 sq ft (2,137 m2). Malls and common areas of the shopping centre measure approx 9,687 sq ft (900 m2).
There are three parts to the Guildhall Shopping Centre: Phase 1, which is mainly shops, opened in November 1988. Phase 2, which is the car park and the Market Hall, opened in October 1989 and Phase 3, which is the main shopping mall, opened in November 1990. The Centre was officially opened by HRH The Princess Royal on 10th June 1991.
The Centre offers a safe, bright and modern shopping environment and is home to several national leading retail outlets including F Hinds, Poundland, Clarks and Body Shop, complemented by established local traders including Peccadillos, Kismet Rose, Lektrix and Rigout.

Most of the stores are closed now and only has two or three shops, we pretty much to just walked through to get to the shops outside Place needs investing into and possible the rent reducing to allow shops back to the town
Very few stalls open, had a medium breakfast at the cafe. The food wasnt up to standard, poor quality products used. Bacon was very fatty, hash brown overcooked, poor quality baked beans and sausage. The tomatoes had no tomatoes in at all just juice. Tea was ok. Gave 2 stars only for the lady who served. Very disappointing.
Very sad shopping centre, most of the shops are closed and boarded up. Might have been nice in the past but not any more. Have to pay for parking on arrival, should have paid for the minimum one hour.
No shopping to be had, disgraceful that the current owner has just left it empty
It's all empty.most of the shops have gone because a firm bought it to cha ge it into flats but pulled out.now its lying empty which is a shame.
Nice area but not alot of shops as they are being closed
No shops left, destroyed by the Council to sell off and online shopping! Empty, very sad to what it used to be like!
The PITS, absolutely disgusting. Millions wasted on pathetic new plastic covered tiny shops next to a RAT INFESTED "stream SOW" Next to a RED derelict County Council office complex. SHAMEFUL
Feel sorry for the 3 shops still open what happened to this centre fragrance store and staff where excellent
Don't waste your time, only about 4 shops left. Another example of expensive rates forcing businesses away
