Nice cafe bar right by the river. Hot drink, soft drinks and alcohol beverages are all on offer so has a wide range. Food menu is fairly large and theres the option of adding extras and they are open to altering the meal slightly. Service is friendly and welcoming, inside seating is comfortable. Outside seating needs improving, could do with some more comfortable chairs, thats the only criticism.
I was meeting a friend to catch up after 3 years and we needed a place where we could relax and chat without being disturbed. It has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and the staff looked after us without being intrusive. I hope to return and try more of the menu soon.
Nice environment except that the music was very loud and not to my taste but hey ho you can't please everyone. Would have been nice to have had more relaxing music. Had to wait an hour for our meal as it is usually quiet on a Monday so only one chef on shift but they forgot it was half term. Food was OK when it eventually came. Good vegetarian menu.
Booked a table and ordered our food in advance as requested by the restaurant . All our meals came out at different times, service was slow and clearly understaffed. We were not the only diners that evening who had a disappointing experience. Spoke to the gentleman in charge that evening and was assured the management would contact us. No response after a week, contacted again and received an email advising we would get a response. Two weeks later no response, further email sent yesterday with no response. Cafe Grounded:- in summary average food, sloppy, slow service and all round poor customer service. The only thing cafe grounded are on parr with to their competitors is the prices they charge. Will not be returning as there are far better places to dine at in BOA and surrounding areas.
Given that they are a chain of cafés/bars in the South West I really didn't want to like it; keep BOA independent and all that. However the staff were so friendly, the drinks brilliant, the atmosphere really convivial and the spot alongside the water superb. A lively place in the evenings.
Nice atmosphere, the menu looks promising for an easy franchised bite to eat, but the hot chocolate was decidedly lukewarm - if I was a child this would be fine, as obviously I would have immediately spilled it on myself and caused a scalding injury, but as an adult I like my hot drinks hot. Service was friendly though, and the interior was comfortable and welcoming.
Scrummy brunch with our friends on sunday. I am gluten free and the choice was fantastic. Food envy from the others as they drooled over my eggs royalle ! Great food, all arrived together hot and delicious. Great place to catch up with friends. Lots of outdoor seating with views over the river. Will definately make a day visit to BOA and visit again.
Very friendly and a nice range of drinks and cakes aso make dogs and their owners very welcome. The terrace is in the shade a plus on hot sunny days less so the rest of the year. My only complaint is the inside is a bit dark and glum.
Awesome gf options, so impressive! Also range of milk alternatives...this place understands the dietary challenged amongst us and makes it delicious. Honestly so impressed, bravo! Also greatlocation, fun music choice makes for a chilled vibe and toys for the little ones. Fab place!,
Went here during the day as a stop whilst cycling the canal. They have a decent selection of mains and sides, along with sandwiches and burgers. My focaccia although tasty was more like a Panini! It's a shame the outside space seems a bit like a plain courtyard rather than the delightful balcony overlooking the Avon it could be.
