The most excellent butcher. He makes the best pies especially the pork with black pudding and caramelised onion. He knows where all his meat is from a and is really helpful with lots of ideas on how to prepare meat. Greenwoods also do a fantastic hog roast with all the extras.

great place, very helpful , quality assured, they do welsh dragon sausages , best sausages you'll ever have, they're not welsh and they contain no dragon, but they are a delicious banger. i always go if im in the area. worth the trip. can highly recommend.

Greenwoods is a very helpful and knowledgeable butchers. The pork pies and pork and apple pies are highly rated by the people who I share them with. Their vacuum packed black pudding is very tasty with large pieces of fat. It explodes when being fried like the black pudding of my childhood memories. When I was discussing the possibility of making pork pies with the butcher, he invited me to drop in the following morning to pick up some spare hot water pastry to give me a feel for the consistency and an idea of mix so that I could correct my own failed attempts. Can't fault the place. I regularly call in when cycling through and distrubute their wares in Leeds and Darlington.
