I visited here with my 2 boys & Father, we went for the 2 course set menu, prices vary from their app to the prices in the venue? App states £9.49 for 2 courses in the venue it cost £10.29 is written on the menu at that? Also my meal never got added to the app rewards even though the person behind the bar scanned my bar code ‍ Still a reasonable price, we had, battered fish, scampi, simply cheeseburger & gammon. Then bottomless ice creams for desserts which went down really well and is a great idea as most places just offer a couple of scoops at similar prices. Easy to park at and a warm cozy atmosphere. The chef Pete had a walk round and said hello prior to us leaving. We would definitely recommend and will be coming back again.

We came here today for the first time and loved it. The service was excellent and very quick. We both had the carvery and the food was lovely, especially the beef, it was melt in your mouth soft! It was lovely for Pete the chef to come out and have a chat and check on us, what a lovely way of making customers feel welcome. We will definitely be returning, thank you!!
Arrived at 12.30 and it was so busy we didn’t think we were going to get seated. Got the second to last table for two. Queued a little while to order and for our food. We decided to go for a carvery. The food was very nice. We had gammon which was very tasty. Good variety of veg too. All washed down with a nice bottle of Spanish red wine. Very pleased with the experience. Thanks to the chef Pete and the very pleasant staff at the green tree.
Called again today - was only calling for a hot drink & ended up having a carvery - would have been rude not too! As good as the last time. Lovely service - special mention to Nathan & Cameron.
Me and my Mother had a lovely Christmas dinner here today. All the staff were friendly and happy to help. My mother is disabled so I usually go and get her carvery as well as my own, I would like to give a special mention to Pete the chef, who not only came around asking us if we enjoyed everything but also helped me carry my mothers plate over to our table. A thoroughly lovely atmosphere and stunning decor as well as friendly and helpful staff who couldn’t do enough for us despite being busy. This is the first time here in years and would happily recommend it to everyone and will definitely be back again for another meal here.
Beautiful carvery today served by chef Pete who was very friendly and polite. Even came over to our table to check we were enjoying everything 5* service. Didn't take any photos due to us enjoying our food so much! Looking forward to our next visit! Thanks again Pete for making our visit so pleasant!
We had family down from Durham and decided to go to the Green tree for Sunday lunch. There was 13 of us and Nathan looked after us.He was really friendly and attentive and very professional. Also big thank you to Holly on the bar. She was very nice also. Our meals was beautiful and will certainly come back.
Brilliant service Pete the chef was very welcoming and the food is great the whole team put huge effort into any occasion while your there nothing bad to say at all about this place closest thing to home cooked food I’ve found so far!
I highly recommend The Green Tree. My family have had our Family Christmas Meet here for the last 10 or more years. Travelling from as far as South London and as near as Thorne. Our family has grown year on year and this year we needed the function room. The staff are patient, friendly but still manage to be efficient which is an amazing achievement with our 27 strong this year rabble. They also cater for vegans with very tasty alternatives to meat. We wouldn't go anywhere else. Thank you to all and A VERY HAPPY CHRISTMAS
