First visit here this morning and it will most definitely be my last. Popped in to buy a birthday card, some biscuits and use the cash machine. Was greeted at the till by one assistant who totally ignored me. So moved along to the next assuming she was otherwise engaged. As I moved along I heard the second assistant speaking to an elderly gentleman who appeared to be trying to pay a bill. He was told very abruptly and in no uncertainty terms that he couldn’t as the system was down (the manner less than polite never mind courteous ) the poor soul just shuffled off like a chastised child. I was so embarrassed for him.  He wasn’t to know the system was down.. he was offered no advice or explanation as to when it might be back up and running just abruptly sent on his way. Then it was my turn... I asked if there was a cash machine? Was given the same treatment as the man before me. As I had no cash on me I asked very politely if I could use my contactless card .... was told “I’ve already told you the systems down” in a rather terse manner.... I had no means of paying so I said sorry I can’t pay for them then .... was given a very frosty look so I said I’d just leave the two items and walked away.. The assistant then shouted at the top of her voice across the shop “don’t worry I’ll put these back” !!!! In all my days I have never been spoken to like that in any shop... clearly the owners of this establishment would benefit from giving their employees some training in customer service. Absolutely disgraceful. And such a shame as I was so impressed with the shop and post office and what it appeared to offer. Yet another case of style over substance or maybe while the cat is away..

My local post office which I only use when I really have to, bad layout difficult to get around because not much room for people, always bumping into people when I use it because lack of space due to shelving and other displays etc, staff ok though.
