My first visit on Saturday 9th July following a recommendation and I was very impressed with how helpful and polite the team member was. I was only after some sealant, but the willingness to show me where it was stocked and then the other items I needed, will certainly mean I will return.
Excellent service each time and fantastic prices!!
Great place for timber, always a large stock of various timbers and good prices. Very helpful staff and they will cut your timber to size while you wait. My go to place for all my timber. They also have a hardware shop for screws, nails, paints, tools etc.
I have lived at the same address in Great Barr for 56 years except for some time spent in the middle east and I have been buying odds and ends from the sawmills since the day I was given my first pocket money. I would say in all that time the people were polite,intelligent, well informed, and extremely patient with their customers. This is why that in spite of today's events I will still give them 5 stars. I had bought a bottle of meths for my alcohol burner, and I was told that if I mixed it with lemonade l could drink it. I do not know if he thought I was a down and out or not. But even if it was just a joke I thought it was a disrespectful, foolish, and even dangerous thing to say. I told the young man to mind what he said but I never got an apology. I hope for his sake he will learn to behave appropriately in time. But to be treated with such rudeness after all those years left me absolutely astounded. I don't believe one rude incident in all that time really counts for anything, they have a near perfect record and service in my opinion , shame to spoil it though. I hope they don't change.
Poor service. Called beforehand to order some firring strips and offered to pay over the phone. They said they wouldn’t cut unless I went in to the store but they would cut there and then when I arrived. Drove 40 minutes to get there to be told they were too busy! Staff were very unhelpful verging on rude. Would never use again
Fantastic! Staff where all very helpful and the range of products both within the timber warehouse and tool station next door where impressive. Always great to have somewhere like this on your doorstep and I'll no doubt be looking for any excuse to go back.
Great place for DIY products and all sorts of timber
After spending 750.00 on decking, when came to lay the boards noticed two planks had quite large splits in. Returned today as need to purchase a further 4 planks as was short. Mentioned that two of the previous planks were of poor quality to be told " oh sorry to hear that.' I then asked if I could arrange collect a further 4 planks. Told they had kept in price from 9.38 to over 12.00 each. No offer of a discount for the previous faulty planks. Only positive their delivery driver is brilliant!!!!
They sell wood, they cut it too. This is a good thing if you wish to buy cut wood. Much better than Wickes or B&Q in terms of selection and price. They also deliver locally, handy for full sheets and long length timbers.
first time going there, I found them friendly and useful. It has free carpark, I found the type of wood I was after but a little over size, and they cut it to size for free. good stock of wood to chose from.
