Good place as a Base for exploring the area. There are on site facilities as well, although they do tend to be typical of holiday site prices! Close to beach which is clean, child and animal friendly. Have visited on several occasions and have never been disappointed with it. Good idea to take rubbish bag or doggy bags with you to keep it this way

When the weather is good this place is amazing. Long beach with rock pools dotted all along the coast. Caravans at site are spacious and lots of choice and option to boot. Very recommended

Beautiful place but the site needs improvements. We arrived all the way from wales really looking forward to our little break,we even upgraded to a bigger caravan but when we saw it I was very disappointed. We were placed near the entertainment complex which was noisy at night. The caravan was not the upgraded one which we were expecting you couldn't see out of any of the windows they were that dirty. I did go up to reception and to be fair someone did come and clean the windows as for the upgrade we were told they didn't have have any alternatives and to put it in writing about a refund....really.Greatly disappointed and won't be booking to come again.

It was a pleasure to stay at Grannies during the Easter break. Our caravan (no3) was as close to the sea as it’s possible to be without needing your wellies to watch tv. The ebb and flow of the tide, huge, crashing waves and sandy vistas when the water receded were hypnotic. An added bonus was the local birdlife at Loch Fleet just a couple of miles away. Many new species to my eye and greatly enjoyed, especially when the sun shone which it does here more often than most places in Scotland. The staff we encountered were friendly and helpful when we had issues with heating, water and power. All went off at some point during our stay but were soon sorted. The caravan itself was fine - comfy bed and very clean but slightly smaller and more basic than others we’ve visited for the same price and showing signs of general wear and tear. There is an inventory in the caravan. We didn’t check it until we wanted to hoover and realised this was missing along with 8 wine glasses. I can only imagine a previous occupant decided to nick it and celebrate with 7 evil pals. Goid fun though and will return at some point.
