So many stairs to get up and down to get to the station platform. Not at all an accessible station and this really needs to be addressed. Very basic facilities on the platform with a ticket machine, a shelter and benches. It’s an unstaffed station.nnThe only thing I find Grangetown station handy for is to change trains here if I’m on my way to Penarth as it’s so much easier changing than at Cardiff Central. As Grangetown station’s one island in the middle of the two platforms, that’s easier than getting lifts and walking along the underpass at Cardiff Central.
This was promised a revamp 3 years ago.....who stole the allocated monies???? Terrible access. Very very, dangerous for pushchairs bikes and wheelchairs. Probably the worst staion in the UK. Definitely NOT disabled friendly. Horrendous.
Echo a lot of the comments from others, not an accessible station, and it not very clean around it either. Its unmanned but thankfully has a ticket machine at least. Overall a very basic station I.e. minimal seating, no toilets, some protection from the elements.
Badly served, trains always late and if they are exceedingly late for whatever reason they do not even stop here. The roof was badly engineered and in case of rain it is not effective as it has holes and it very tall. Security cameras do not seem to be enough to deter smoking and crime near the premises of the station. It is only accessible by a long, steep and slippery staircase, unsuitable for heavy-luggage travellers and disabled people.
No parking, long steep flight of stairs so no wheelchairs! No toilet or ticket office. You have to buy ticket at machine. There is a good all weather cover area with seating.
