To be honest, I was underwhelmed. I love Cardiff bay and this is the station it gets? Cardiff bay is becoming very busy and this is all it gets? I hope the planned improvements will make this become good enough for the area but for now it’s doing the best it can but the location is almost perfect just a bit far from the bay itself.
On my journey to Cardiff Queen Street by train, I noticed a ticket machine near the entrance, although I didn't need to use it as I had already purchased my ticket earlier. To check the train schedule, I relied on Google Maps for convenience.
It's a nice little station for commuting to and from Cardiff bay. It's quite small but wheelchair accessible. There is no parking but paid parking is nearby. There is no waiting room and the station is only one platform. There are some cafes nearby and it is less than a 5 minute walk to the bay. Cardiff bay station is currently under redevelopment as in the metro project and should be done summer 2025, but overall it is quite a good commuter station!
Connects to Queen Street Station quite frequently. Easily accessible. Small shelter. No toilets. No cafe although many around needs a redevelopment
Great place to walk around with the kids and friends. With a big variety of restaurants to choose from.
