This is one of my all time favorite places in London. Such a no brainer to come here in summer. You find yourself jostling with other in-the-knows for the exceptionally good service at the counter. Grab a nice glass of great wines, all hand selected, and find yourself a spot outside on the terrace. If you’re lucky enough to arrive earlier you might even be able to get a table in the medieval vaults just to the side of the main bar. I hope to try the seafood selection I always remember seeing!

This place is always rammed-- for good reason, and starts getting busy around 4pm daily. They have a fantastic selection of wines, and the environment is really fun and has a historic charm as well (I think it's the oldest wine bar in London?) Have enjoyed every visit I've had here.

My favourite wine bar in London not because it's reputedly the oldest but because it always has a good atmosphere as well as a vast selection of reasonably priced wines ( for London prices!). I enjoy trying unusual wines here the last was an excellent Lebanese red. Because of the various cave like corners it's intimate perfect for a romantic drink or with a group..Nice terrace too which increases capacity Get here early to avoid being disappointed.

Absolutely love this place! It's a hidden gem. In a little underground basement like place near embankment, its the perfect place for a drink with some friends or a romantic date. Pick up some tapas dishes and some cheeses from their menu and you've got a nice meal.

The best wine bar i have ever been to!! Its in the basement and its all like a cave with candles. Amazing atmosphere and ideal for a romantic date!! We had a bottle of wine and we couldn't stop admiring that unique bar! 100% recommended!!
