It might be airport food, but it was delicious! My fish and chips were hot and crispy and the mushy peas tasted very fresh. My husband’s burger was also delicious. Only complaint is that the bacon could have been crispier, but we both prefer our bacon to be crispy. Not everyone does. The Sticky Toffee Pudding was so yum! Great meal option for a long layover at Heathrow.
This is one of the best plane food restaurants we’ve ever visited. The restaurant looks fabulous, the food is more than delicious and the staff is amazing. We were short of time and still got our dishes very fast, well presented and very tasty. We were amazed to discover that kids menu is for free - and the portions are big enough to make an adult full. The atmosphere was very calm and lovely even though it is located in the busiest airport in England. We definitely recommend this place, especially if you want to end your journey to London with a perfect experience.
I ordered tomato soup, veggie burger and fries. My soup was really nice. On a mild side, however it tasted good with a bit of salt and pepper. The veggie burger was really good. The fries looked homemade but tasted overcooked and frozen and had a dry texture. The fish and chips was OK. Again the French fries could use a little work. The fish had a lot of batter. Ketchup served with the meal was nice, without corn syrup. Good sized portions, convenient location. The service was amazing and the menu was great. I think most could find something to eat there. They served the food quickly. We left satisfied and I'd definitely go back for that veggie burger alone.
The price were higher than the other places but you get a higher quality! I had only dessert , but it was delicious! The place feels neglected . The staff is not very kind-specially the ladies! The rest were polite . Service it was pretty quick , but I had to wait longer for the table, the restaurant wasn’t full, but the staff didn’t rush to get the people seated! Great views of the runways.
Loved it. Food and service excellent. Butter Chicken Curry was a bit more spicy than I expected. All good food chosen to settle us before flying? Fast service too. I hated the bowl they served in though, as my cutlery would sweep round and slip into the food. *Please serve the bowls on a plate so that there is somewhere to put the cutlery in between mouthfuls? Staff were great once we made an effort but it was noticable that, until individually approached, none of them seemed very cheerful in their work? No toilets in an airport restaurant of course.
Had the Express Menu with the Burger. The Meat was overly well done, the Brioche tasted old and 16£ just on it's own is way to much, for what got served. As you can see through the kitchen, you see that the Burgers were just kept warm. Gordon Ramsay, you should be ashamed to give your name to this place. Soup wasn't horrible, but just bland. No seasoning what so ever. plus point, the server was nice. But nice isn't make me fed up.
Not sure why this place is only 3.3 stars, we thought it was great! The price were slightly higher than the other places but you get your money worth with really good options and nicer quality. I had the Caesar salad appetiser portion and that really filled me up, the chicken was generous and moist, the salad crunchy and just overall nicely seasoned. The chips were my favorite, super crunchy just like I love them. The chicken wings were really good, it’s honestly a good portion! And the rigatoni were perfectly al dente, generous portion and pesto tasted homemade. It could use a bit more seasoning to add more flavour to it but we were really satisfied with our lunch there!
Pleasant overall experience but will be a bit more critical considering the owner of the restaurant. Their special two course option with red wine at GBP30 was a decent value. The sea bass was perfectly cooked but the dish was boring and overall underwhelming. It could have used a bit more color and texture instead of just a soft fish on soft mashed potatoes. The tomato soup lacked seasoning. The tamarind wings were good. The GR burger was just ok but was expecting it to be fantastic. I think having the two large burger patties only detracted from the experience. The tagliatelle was good but a fairly basic dish. The cheesecake was good. Service was fine, could be better. There were several things in the menu which were not available - to our dismay. One of our napkins had a stain.
Liked the veggie breakfast accompanied by toasted breads and coffee here. Do not expect too much flavor and spices, just a fairly simple English breakfast. All the ingredients were of high quality. The serving time was around 20 minutes, and you are allowed to sit at the restaurant for a long time even after finishing off your meal.
Don't get me wrong please the breakfast was really good, not excellent but for airport food was exceptional. But would you pay this much for a breakfast that neither includes a coffee, tea or toast?? Even if it has Gordon's name on it.. Where they missed the point.. it is called plane food so surely they would understand that people have limited time to eat as they are there to catch a flight.. So wait to be seated, wait for your order to be taken, and then you are told average waiting time for food is 25 minutes.. In all honesty the service was really good, but it was not packed so why do we have to wait in line to be seated, I was literally told to wait for a table to be cleared, but there were lots of tables available. Gordon this can work as long as we can be in and out in 45 mins and not lose 45 mins waiting for seating, order and food. Shout out to the workers, they were great..
