Ronnie Harrow and Mark Gorgon are absolutely amazing to work with. I am a Travel Advisor in the United States. I had 3 couples that needed 5 different transfers on different days. Ronnie and Mark made it so easy to set them up. The drivers were on time and I trusted they would provide excellent care for my clients. I had a wonderful experience and I will definitely use this company again.
I used Golf City Taxi everyday, twice a day and was exceptionally pleased. Always on time with clean vehicles and courteous drivers. I found emailing them the day before to take me to golf courses and restaurants worked best. The airport transfer from St Andrews to Edinburgh was quick and seemless. Will use them again.
We were a group of 4 women coming to St Andrews to play golf, we booked Golf City Taxis to take us on our golf journeys and to go to Leuchars station, they were always on time and the drivers were always very friendly and ready to help, the cars were always very clean. Highly recommend them.
Took a taxi from the bus station to Stewart’s Resort. The driver went through the town centre then through a residential area on the outskirts. When I questioned where he was going he said he was cutting out the one way system. We found this very strange as had taken a taxi yesterday from another company and pointed out that his roundabout journey we had ended up slightly further up the road from the bus station. He said it wouldn’t be much more expensive and he would sort it. He switched the meter off about half a mile away from our destination at £14. I pointed out that the previous day we were £12 and that is exactly what we paid him. Just for info we tipped the driver from the previous day £3 so his total fare was £15 so honesty does pay.

Golf City Taxi was a life saver. Tremendous service, large clean vans. My wife and I needed a large taxi to go a short distance in St Andrews during graduation week we changed Airbnb's checking out of one at 10a but not able to check into the other until the afternoon. She is in a wheelchair so we couldn't transport our 4 bags even for a relatively short distance. All the other taxi services in St Andrews declined to pick us up and take us. We tried 3-4 other companies first but nobody would even come - they all declined on the phone. I initially didn't call Golf City because i thought they were just for long distance/golfing events, but they arrived 5 min after we called them in a large van - enough for our bags and wheehchair. The driver even arranged another large van to pick us up in a few hours to take us to the other Airbnb. Golf City Taxi was a life saver!!! The fare was only metered for the short distance, so we we gave them 3-4X the meter amount because it was a bargain. Thanks for being there for us in a time of need Golf City Taxi --- you were professional and prompt, and stood above all the rest!!
I would give 0 stars if I could since 'Golf City Taxis' does not function as a taxi service and thus does not deserve to be rated as such. I have attempted to use this service four times in the last 15 months and they have failed to turn up on three occasions. Yesterday, I booked a lift for 09:55 and gave the operator my phone number, address and name. I waited until 10:10 and rang up to ask where the taxi was. The operator was very rude on the phone and denied ever having spoken to me. I told him that I had triple checked that it was indeed 'Golf City Taxis' that I called and that I had the number on my call log. I even told him that I recognised his voice and he said that he'd never spoken to me before. Why he would lie, I don't know, but I imagine they were either overbooked or had forgotten about my lift and sought to justify themselves. There are so many better taxi services in St Andrews, so clearly I will always be using them from this point onward. I can understand a taxi sometimes being late, or even failing to turn up occasionally, but actually denying that I made the booking and being so rude on the phone is, in my opinion, inexcusable. I highly recommend staying clear of this abominable service.
Giving 1 star purely because I can’t rate 0 stars. Never ever ever using this taxi service again and I suggest everyone else does the same. We had the pleasure of taking a taxi with a driver named Russell yesterday evening and without a doubt it was the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. We arrived to the vehicle completely sober and polite to be greeted with rude remarks telling us to ‘get out of the way’ whilst he adjusted the back seat. After providing an address for our destination the driver very bluntly and condescendingly kept yelling “what?” in my flatmates face, quite clearly mocking her accent which is highly unacceptable and unprofessional. When driving to the destination literally a 3 minute drive that we took because of rain we had the pleasure of being constantly yelled at for offering to assist with directions to our destination - of which we only offered because of the clear incompetence of the driver. Upon our suggestion of providing directions the driver began shouting “NO. I DONT NEED DIRECTIONS. HOW LONG HAVE YOU LIVED HERE? HOW LONG HAVE I LIVED HERE?’. It was incredibly threatening and uncomfortable. This was definitely one of the WORST experiences of customer service I’ve ever had. Would highly recommend avoiding Golf City at all costs. Use HM taxis instead - much cheaper and very friendly!
